Turkish Navy authorized over oil crisis with Greek Cyprus

IMO when we are looking at who can beat the other guy in a war we have to look at some simple facts, I will just point out the geographic facts.

First off I want to say that greece can never invade turkey so there is no need to discuss that scenario.
  1. Greece has many islands extremely close to Turkey. Examples: Samos, Lesvos,Chios,Kos, ikaria etc. Even rhodes look how close it is to turkey. Turkey can take over many of those islands no problem. The greeks can't even send reinforcements in time and even if they are able to Turkey can bring many soldiers to those islands in a short period of time. Thousands of soldiers can be transported to those very close islands on mere fishing boats due to the geographic proximity of some greek islands to turkey. Artillery will clear out all defences no air power is even needed for those conquests and can concentrated in other areas like thrace and cyprus. The populations of those islands are also low so locals cant resist very much

That's why Efes is one of the most exciting exercise Greek media interested. It simulates a war environment between Greece/Turkey. To give a quick responce, Turkish combined forces (Air/Navy/Land Forces) suddenly attack Greek islands to capture many of them withing hours. Efes means worry and fear for Greeks.

. .
  1. Lets look at thrace. There is a river separating turkey and greece so it would be tough to cross and would result in alot of casulties for turkey imo, luckily the SAMUR bridge was developed so this would allow turkish troops to cross the river relatively quickly if the greek airforce can be dealt with early on. Even if you dont cross the river succesfully and fail you will still have sucked alot of greek resources away from their islands and cyprus so a loss in thrace isnt that bad considering the fact that you wont lose any territory.

SAMUR vehicle project is also specially watched by Greek media. This vehicle is developed for river passages of Turkish land vehicles in Thrace. At a likely crisses, Altay tanks are being carried by Samur over river. It is able to carry up to 70 tonnes...

In past, USA and Europeans put embargoes over Turkish demands to keep stability but, Turkish defence industry broke all limits of their dreams. In past, We were the one who warn French not to sell Storm Shadow missiles to Greece but Today, We don't care but develop 5x more range variant of What Greece ordered from abroad. Germany refused to sell 1000 Leopard 2A6 EX variant to Turkey with pointing Greece but Today, It is Altay MBT's to be produced in similar numbers.

I'm thinking about senario's where we could invade Greece. We don't have much reasons to invade them anyhow. They are economically beaten down. At the moment they have some modern equipment but in the future we won't be able to replace and upgrade their equipment. Only way we would attack Greece would be after big mistake from their part and I think after 1974 they won't make that mistake. Anyhow, I think it is good Turkey is building these capabilities. You will never know what will happen in the future. Maybe new balkan wars? In the bosnian war, Greece didn't grand us access to Bosnia. If something similar happens tomorrow, we will punch our way through Greece. We will never allow another Bosnian massacre.

It is called as deterrence bro. Noone wants to kill Greeks, nor invade their lands but There is a serious fact that We have many dispute areas in Aegean and It is Greeks claiming 2x longer miles than Turkey accepts. Besides, Greeks like using other states politically as a trump against us. If they do a mistake, They should just know that Turkish armed forces will be as close as a breath. Such interesting projects are destroying their psicological conditions and changing their moral statues to negative because They sure that They can never give response to What Turkey achieves at present/future so They are frightened to get one step ahead of us. Actually, That is what Turkish defence industry provides in peace days and I think Noone wants to taste the fire of those machines in war times. With this way, The mission have already been accomplished.

Luckily Greece is messing up themselves. They cheat themselves and cheat others. Cheat EU. Cheat on their allies. Last decade was the best time the Greeks will have. The coming decades will be austerity after austerity. Their army will be only symbolic army in the future since it will be too outdated and too small. The best thing would be if they get kicked out from EU and loose political power. They hurted Turkish interests too much by supporting our enemies. Now they even support the dictator in Egypt

On the reality side ,do you really think that ?

As a serious discussion,am I the only one thinking that Erdogan has surrounded Turkey with enemies with his policies which seem to backfire everywhere ? Ok,Greece,Cyprus,Armenia were natural enemies but now you have Egypt ,a couple of Arab Gulf countries (which are bankrolling Egypt's rearmament program) and an unstable and enemy Syria (i wager that Syria will be unfriendly with whatever regime will end up in there-Assad or jihadists, forget the moderates, they don't have a chance.Add to this a hostile Israel and a strenghtening kurdish region.

@Sinan @xenon54 @Neptune @Hakan @atatwolf @madmusti @rmi5 and others,sry can tag you all,you're so many.:lol:

You don´t know ? Ottoman Empire V2.0 is coming soon. Egypt was the first who starts revolts in Ottoman Empire. No the payback is coming :D

i concur. erdo with his megalomaniac attitude alienated everybody. just as he says that german parliamentarians don't have the right to meddle in turkish internal affairs, so doesn't he have any right to meddle in egyptian affairs just because his like-minded MB got kicked in the ***. i won't even mention relations with israel or syria.
to turkish members, chest thumping is good but you're forgetting that turks won the wars, but lost in the negotiation table :) besides, wars are very expensive nowadays, so i don't think anybody in this neighbourhood wants it.

. . .
Anyway, I don't think anyone in Egypt expected Turkey not to condemn or at least be critical of what happened. However, what is being frowned upon is the blatant hostile attitude and actions of Erdogan which amount to intervention in another sovereign states affairs.

All things aside, this is where Erdo screwed up.

International relations are based on interests, not emotions. Morsi failed, Sisi took over. Every state in the fucking world including Egyptians moved on so should we. There is nothing we can gain by playing the Don Quixote.

We have the military power to deal with every threat that exists in Middle East but that means squat if you don't have the diplomatic power to back it up. You'll lose everything you gained on the battlefield when you sit on the negotiation table.

. . . .
What do you guys exactly have, and how many of them?

4 Hydra class frigates: 8 Harpoons on 2 Mk 141 launchers, 16 ESSMs on one Mk 48 VLS (Mod 2) and 6 torpedo tubes on two Mark 32 torpedo launchers with Mark 46 (Mode 5) torpedoes.

9 Elli class frigates: 8 Harpoons on 2 Mk 141 launchers, 8 Sea Sparrow missiles (RIM-7M) on a Mk 29 launcher and 6 torpedo tubes on two Mark 32 torpedo launchers with Mark 46 (Mode 5) torpedoes.

We have been using that upgrade since years. Not Mk13 and 92 Fire Control System. All are upgraded and replaced with indigenous modern Turkish systems.
LockMartin Upgrades Ship Defense System On Turkish Navy Frigates
I see.
