Turkish Missile Programs

Seahawk like 10t helicopters can carry missiles up to 250kg - 300kg. So even the SOM-J (500kg) would come too heavy to deploy on a helicopter.

I'm not too sure about that. The S-70B-6 Aegean Hawk that we use fires the AGM-119 Mk2 Penguin missile. It weighs close to 400kg.

UMTAS is an anti-tank missile, with range characteristics close to the American Hellfire. Marte-ER has a turbojet instead of a solid fuel rocket sustainer (which is why it can get that big of a range upgrade over the basic Marte/Sea Killer missile).

Thanks for the info

Well, if we're a strategic partner, I think Qatar will still buy some Cirit to support further development. It would be a political choice. The buy from america is due to security reasons. IMO.

He meant that doesn't effect Cirit (as a project).

I meant it as product, Cirit is no longer a project.

Fact is Cirit is superrior 70mm missile, it is also a fact that APKWS equires little effort to integrate onto AH-64 Qataris bought them for. If Cirit were integrated onto AH-64 I have no doubt more countries buying it.

Since Cirit isn't part of the AH-64 weapons loadout and I doubt Americans would ever commit to integrating it, it has no effect on Cirit.
