I recall several months ago that supposedly the new medium tank to be build with Indonesia was said to be based on the Kaplan 20 design. I think it was @Nutuk who said it. He seems to be right.

I dont think its KAPLAN 20 platform based.
Kaplans engine in front of the vehicle.
But this Light Tank has rear engine.
Driver sits in the middle of the front.In this place Kaplan has engine.
This is obviously different platform.

Kaplan is the name of new generation tracked armored vehicles of FNSS. They has a family of;

Kaplan-10 (STA project winner)
Kaplan-20 (Introduced in IDEF 2015)
Kaplan-35 (Pindad-FNSS joint project which is called as MMWT )

I don't see MMWT ever being considered for Turkey, perhaps if it was less of a tank and more like an IFV like Tulpar.. But it's good to see FNSS come so far, remember when they were licensing M8

Tulpar with 105mm turret > MMWT.. imo

İf they have called Kaplan 35 , vehicle must weight 35 tons.
This cockerill 105mm turret might weight 5 tons. 35-5=30 tons weight of vehicle without turret. As same as TULPAR or CV90 series.
It is not light tank it is medium tank

M8buford weights with gun only maximum 20 tons Russian light tank also weights 20 tons with 125mm gun
