Otherwise how in the hell could the results be so far off from all the polls including those from polling companies close to akp?

Newer generations have only experienced the AKP government, 13 years of akp government, now 17 years. In my opinion it demonstrates the failure of the other parties rather than the success of AKP alone.

same thoughts here. IIRC pro-akp pollsters put akp somewhere around 43-45%.

I see one around 47% AKP.

Like most countries in the world a signifcant portion of the population are swing voters. They dont have a solid stance in politics generally and vote for whoever appears to be the best choice at that specific moment.

Terror is the key word here, there is a general view in Turkey that a single party goverment brings stability, that also explains why AKP could gain votes in east while HDP loosing.
