The Supreme Military Council (YAS) meeting of the winter period, was held at the Headquarters of the General Staff. In the meeting, launching the restructuring of the Turkish Armed Forces was decided.

Here are the planned changes:
  • Turkish Armed Forces will become fully professional in time,
  • Formation of troops will be flexible and highly mobile,
  • TAF`s technological capacity will be developed, possession of the medium and to long-range missiles will be increased,
  • Naval power in the Mediterranean will greatly be increased,
  • Gendarme will be transformed into a kind of rural police under Ministry of Interior.
Eğer gerçekleşirse TSK'yı bölge gücü yapar Haberleri, En Son Haber || Samanyolu Haber

Although, we were a little late to transform TAF as fully professional army, this is a good news.

Number of current military personnel is 650,000 which 214,000 of then are specialised professional personnel. (%32). You're a lucky dude. Those numbers i gave you are justly released by Generals Staff's official website. You can check and see it if you can understand TurkisNumber of current military personnel is 650,000 which 214,000 of then are specialised professional personnel. (%32). You're a lucky dude. Guys, stay on topic... or one of our guys will scold you. He's so sensitive about these subjects. ;)

Alright mate ! :ashamed:

On Topic : Its mind boggling that Turkiye still has a largely Conscript Army !

Wouldn't it be better to have Conscription in a Secondary Position - Maybe something like a Paramilitary Force meets a Social Workers Group; you know using the manpower to build Infrastructure or do Community Service elsewhere in addition to training them to serve as a Second-Line Force during War !

We used to have something similar back in the '80s or the '90s called the NCC or something whereby Students were encouraged to opt for a short-course in military service - Shooting Guns at a Firing Range & March Pass etc. - Those preliminary stuff !

Thankfully even that was voluntary but now its not there anymore ! :(

I suppose with a Standing Army (all volunteers) of 650,000 plus a 500,000 Reserve in addition to a Paramilitary Force of 420,000 soldiers gives us more than enough manpower ! :undecided:

Damn thats a million plus active Land Based Forces in addition to nearly half a million reservists & we're not even counting the Navy & the Airforce ! :o:

stay on topic gents. u can go to çay Bahçesi or Naswarville for your marriage issues :D

Anyways, ı think this season's council was an important one that they took life-changing decisions for TAF I think.
