Here we Go.

The TAF, with a combined troop strength of around 1,041,900 soldiers (including reserves and paramilitary forces),[1] is the second largest standing force in NATO (after the United States). Currently, up to 36,700 troops may be stationed in the north of Cyprus as part of the Cyprus Turkish Peace Force.

Advocates of the European Union as a superpower have predicted that the addition of the Turkish Armed Forces into the EU Military Framework will enable it to be a true global player.[7] The TAF already participates in European Union battlegroups under control of the European Council, as a part of the Italian-Romanian-Turkish Battlegroup, which will be on standby for duty during June–December 2010. It also contributes operational staff to the Eurocorps multinational army corps initiative of the EU and NATO.

NATO officials also state that the modern day Turkish Armed Forces are "very experienced and very well-trained".

Not exactly

NATO nuclear sharing
Main article: Nuclear sharing

As of 2009, Turkey is one of five NATO member states which are part of the nuclear sharing policy of the alliance, together with Belgium, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.[8] A total of 90 Tactical B61 nuclear bombs are hosted at the Incirlik Air Base, 40 of which are allocated for use by the Turkish Air Force in case of nuclear conflict and only with the approval of NATO command.[9] However another report claims there is no permanent nuclear capable force of F-16s based at Incirlik, and that the Turkish Air Force is not certified for NATO nuclear missions. Thus if Turkeys 40 B61 nuclear bombs were needed, NATO would first need nuclear capable F-16s from other U.S. bases to deliver the bombs. "The reason for this situation is that NATO no longer uses tactical nuclear weapons. If the Turkish nuclear weapons were ever needed, it would take 'months' to ready them." [10]

this forum is getting funnier daily ....i guess the turkish guys here dont have any other country to compare themselves to boast about.....common how long can they stay here seeing the news is always india, pakistan and china...where is the fun for them....so they decided to somehow involve themselves...obviously the cannot compare agaist pakistan(muslim brethern_)...and certainly not against china(pakistans best friend....so all pakistani's would be against it.....)and so who else is left - india.........(see there is no enemity between india /turkey....but lets create it ...so that we too become important in this forum)
