China, the only country fought both USA (50s - Korea) and Soviets (60s - borders clash) in direct military combats while risking nuclear weapons attack. Back then, we haven't detonated own nuclear weapons yet.

Despite our being poor back then with disadvantaged weapons, we fought USA to a standstill in North Korea.

Turks are very brave nation, they fought in the world war 1, even though they were on the loosing side but it was against the whole west, then they bravely fought to make the modern Turkey. However I think for Turkey to rise as a great power again they need to be patient and build themselves up, they need to make alliance with their neighbouring nations and then with a great power like China. If we look at China, USA is selling cutting edge military technology to Taiwan but even though China is angry about it, it still does not use threatening language.
