Turkish teams ranked among top 10 during the 2018 Student Unmanned Aerial Systems (SUAS) Competition held in the U.S. from June 13-16.

According to the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) website, a total of 69 teams -- 35 domestic, 31 international, and three high schools -- were accepted in the competition.

Five Turkish teams participated. Istanbul Technical University's team ITUNOM came in seventh and Yildiz Technical University's team Lagari bagged the eighth rank.

Turkey Technology Team Foundation chairman Mehmet Fatih Kacir on Sunday told Anadolu Agency that they provided financial support to four Turkish teams that attended the competition.

Kacir said it is important for Turkish engineering students to participate in such competitions.

"The youths, who follow current developments on technology and engineering, and develop their own projects in the field while going beyond the theoretical education at the schools, will carry works on domestic industry and indigenousness a step further," he added.

Turkey should depend more on UAV, they have valid reason . First for the last 10 years Kurdish manged to operate manpad due to Syrian war . Second expensive helicopter are easy target in mountain. A huge mountain area is covered by Kurdish so UAV is best and cheap option.

I agree, UCAVs are much better suited to hunt terrorists in mountains.

Bayraktar TB2 UCAV production.

Yes.

Unallocated numbers of Kamikaze drones in service.

ALPAGU
ALPAGU.JPG

ALPAGU™ is a fixed-wing tactical loitering & attack UAV solution engineered for anti-terror and asymmetric warfare scenarios. Due to its portability, it can be deployed and operated by a single personnel. Launched from a pneumatic portable launcher, the System is expendable for single use and performs high-precision surveillance and reconnaissance missions (autonomous or manual modes) to neutralize threats within a tactical range of 5 kms. ALPAGU™ facilitates its autonomy through sophisticated computer vision and deep learning algorithms, such as tracking, detection and classification of static/moving targets (i.e. vehicle, person etc.). The system is comprised of the fixed-wing UAV, launcher system and ground control unit.

ALPAGU BLOK II™ facilitates its autonomy through sophisticated computes vision and deep learnig algorithms such as tracking detection and classification of static/moving targets.
The system is comprised of the "fixed-wing attack UAV", "launcher" and "ground control station". ALPAGU BLOK II™ can be launched both from a pneumatic portable single-launcher and from a multi-launcher while offering cooridnated operation capability at the battlefield with basic level of swarm intelligence ingenuity.

WTF... is IHAS-7?
Looks like a computer mouse with wings.

IHAS-8 looks like a Turkish version of RQ-170 Sentinel

Those images are put on presentation just for symbolic. It is the classes of them which is important bro. IHAS-7 would be more or less like a GlobalHawk, while 8 will be an armed unmanned aircraft.

Baykar is working on cencepts.

Heli-Mildar

Meteksan developed MMW radar Mildar for drones will be integrated on Akinci drones. Compared to Heli-Mildar developed for Atak-1/2, IHA Mildar is light weight and compact which is designed to be the strategic sensor working on SAR/GMTI modes to take clear SAR images at all weather conditions/clouds along with Fire Control Radar modes to detect moving/stationary targets to lock/guide munitions.

Meteksan developed OKIS automatic takeoff/landing radar for drones are passed all trials. Operations of drones on Turkish ports are safer.

Anka-B uses SAR/GMTI radar. It is also an option for drones!

Esen - Wide Area Surveillance System

Wide Area Surveillance Systems enable to perform surveillance continuously in areas as wide as a city center (~20km2) on concurrent basis. Thus, complete situational awareness can be created at the wider areas, and much more intelligence data can be collected.
