Turkey handed over letter of protest Greece, Israel and the EU to seek his permission for studies on matters concerning the Turkish continental shelf.
A memorandum of understanding was signed on March 8, 2021 on the EU-backed EuroAsia Interconnector project, which envisions establishing an electricity connection between Greece, the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus (GASC) and Israel.
In the visuals of project document, it was learned that planned route of the underwater electricity cable between the island of Cyprus and Crete showed inside Turkey's continental shelf. Due to Turkey's permission not taken, letters of protest handed over to Greece, Israel and EU Delegations.
