Tunis receives first batch of new Typhoon 4×4 mine resistant ambush protected vehicles

Tunis’s National Guard receives the first batch of new Typhoon 4×4 mine resistant ambush protected vehicles (MRAP) from STREIT Group. This was reported bymenadefense.net.

The Prime Minister Habib Essid of Tunisia views new Typhoon vehicles and said that “The vehicles will enhance the capacity of security forces and the National Guard in the fight against terrorism in particular.”

The ceremony took place in the garrison of the National Guard to Laouina, north of Tunis.

The Typhoon 4×4 is a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle / MRAP which is used primarily as a mounted infantry troop carrier and ground support vehicle for dismounted troops and can be easily configured as command and control vehicle, medical evacuation platform or as a forward observation platform (FOO). The vehicle offers its occupants blast protection to STANAG 4569 Level 3.

Typhoon features a V-shaped monocoque armored hull design that offers advanced protection to the 10 man crew. Typhoon benefits from superior off-road mobility. The crew capacity consists of a driver, commander, 8 dismounts and a gunner.

Why didn't Tunesia order more Kirpi's from Turkey are they not satisfied with the vehicle?

also they use most of the time 100+ kg explosives everyone knows that in Turkey.

The protection level of Kirpi is known by Army. Turkish Army has 731 Kirpi MRAP in inventory and all are actively used in terror operations. We have lots of examples Kirpi protected all crew against strong IED explosions so Turkish Army increased the number of Kirpi to be operated.

For exm.

Muş province IED attack to Kirpi. Crater looks like the one done by an IED having a weight of 25kg ?

Kirpi was destroyed but Crew compartment protected 12 soldiers and All survived !

Don't throw garbage claims without revealing solid proofs.

PKK sometimes uses thousands kg explosives, When they feel totally desperate against Turkish Army. Hundreds kg is not a big deal for those terrorists.
