TTP Karachi commander with 4 aides arrested
Thursday, November 14, 2013 - Karachi—In a fierce exchange of fire between Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Tehrik-i Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Karachi chapter militants, sepoy Ali Akbar was shot while another sustained injuries. Rangers had arrested TTP Karachi chapter Ameer (Leader) along with 4 of his aides.
The encounter took place in Gulshan-e Boner, a NO GO Area and terrorists’ safe heaven in Quaidabad area of Landhi.
The encounter had lasted for several hours and besides casualty inflicted on Rangers, TTP Karachi chapter Ameer Shahabullah Mehsood was arrested. The TTP militants had opened fire on Rangers as the later reached and cordoned off the area on a tip off from intelligence sources Wednesday morning.
The arrested TTP terrorists belonged to slain Hakeemullah Mehsood’s group.
Rangers had also taken in custody a large cache of weapons including 2 tons of explosive, 25 Kalashnikovs, 50 grenades, detonators, 1 ambulance that the arrested TTP militants had snatched earlier and 4 stolen motorcycles.
Sepoy Ali Akbar hailed from Mansehra, his duration of service was 7 years 11 months. He left behind a wife and 2 daughters.
His funeral prayers were offered the headquarters of Bhittai RangersWednesday afternoon. Pakistan Rangers Sindh Director General (DG) Maj. Gen, Rizwan Akhtar, Deputy DG Rangers, Additional InspectorGeneral of Police, Shahid Hayat and other senior Rangers officers attended. Body of Rangers sepoy would be laid to rest in his ancestral village near Mansehra.
On the other hand, 2 groups of terrorists in Lyari had clashed fiercely and among several civilians, a minor girl Hadiba was killed. She was rushed to Civil Hospital Karachi for emergency but she succumbed to her lethal injuries.

Karachi—Three blasts in Karachi’s Pahar Gunj area in North Nazimabad near Imambargah in close vicinity of Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium injured ten persons.
The first blast had occurred at about 10 PM and according to police, the blast was conducted through a remote controlled devices and about half a kilogram of explosive was used in it.
Those injured in the blast included police, Pakistan Rangers Sindh personnel and newsmen that were busy in covering a Moharram related mourning at the Imambargah. A minor was also injured. One vehicle was damaged while glasses of windows of buildings nearby had crashed. However, no death was reported till filing of this report.
The Senior Superintendent of Police of district Central Amir Farooqui told newsmen that the first blast had left 2 injured while second blast inflicted more damage to people and buildings in the close vicinity as newsmen and law enforcement agencies had reached the affected area and in the meantime, a second blast had occurred.
It was yet not ascertained as whether the time-controlled explosive device was planted in a vehicle or in an empty place inside the sewage drain that was beside the Imambargah.
On the other hand, another blast was occurred near UP Morr in New Karachi. As a result of blast, one cop sustained injuries and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical care.
The three blasts had caused the people to bet gripped by extreme fear and panic and the measures so far claimed to had been extra-high had become a big question.
