What's new

Trump and Modi will be 'best friends': Trump adviser

India and Pakistan and not central to the US's foreign policy goals for now, they have other much bigger issues like the middle east and Russia/China. He appears to be very serious about dealing with terrorism. They still have a presence in Afghanistan, the US will continue to engage with Pakistan on security issues, and continue to ignore anything they want on Kashmir, it'll be business as usual. I also believe that Pak will have a better chance of getting those free F-16s if you can make a stronger case or deal with him than it would have under Hillary. He's all about making deals.

. .
Trump will be a different person when he joins the office in January. Electoral campaigns usually highlight extreme and controversial stuff around the candidate and the media was behind Clinton.

Agree that the guy is an idiot but he's a new face in the arena. He is not a seasoned politician like Clinton, he will depend heavily on Pentagon, CIA and his advisors.
Clinton would have persued the Omaba's pro India policy, but with Trump it remains to be seen what South Asia means for US' interests in the region.

One can expect the Indian lobby to work overtime and make premature and juvenile claims like Mr Kumar did here. Modi is probably all high dreaming about the pappi jhappi and selfies with this powerful pu**y grabber and might visit him in the first quarter already.
But Pakistan must remain calm and continue to work on CPEC and improve ties with Russia and Iran. Trump can not and will not take on the entire Muslim world, he will still need a few allies.

.
So will modi be doing the same "Bear Hug" to trump ?

Modi is from business class...he knows what sells and what doesn't. So expect something on those lines when both leaders meet.

You are right...US policies on Kashmir won't change. With Afghanistan disappearing from US radar slowly, Pakistan too will become less important, and US will be more interested in ISIS, Syria etc... Russia will come out of its isolation....relations with China will become more stained...and relations with India will become stronger.

Instead of Trump ,if they elected any other President situation would have been remain same.Would be always same .
Because India is already an important independent player in this world.

:astagh: Haram Haram :astagh:

Indeed

Exactly, The fact is Americans have a history of screwing up nations in the name of bilateral relationship, strategic and economic partners. Pakistan knew what would happen to it but they wanted to taste before coming to conclusion.

The fact is, No nation in the world would become your strategic partner unless you share land boundary with them. They will most likely be your economic partners for the benefit of themselves and themselves alone. USA has no reason not to ditch India if it's not making them any money or serving any purpose. They obviously lives in different part of the world and mutual economic benefits, the fear of China's rising dominance and the willingness of Indian people to support America's ambitious plans to sustain monopoly is all that's bringing them together.

The day India is not useful to them, the relationship would deteriorate.

He is a cunning businessman. He would not do that. I am hopeful USA will economically progress under his leadership and he would be Made-In-USA like person reviving his efforts to bring back industrial sector in USA. The call centres will remain abroad for cheap labour but he would try to rebuild the USA like President Hoover of 1930s in order to create more n more jobs in USA. Cheap Employment will continue to grow in the likes of India, Philippines and Asia but he would definitely assert on establishing or relocating major industrial units within the boundaries of United States unlike Obama

We didnt invite them for some extra concession .Indo US relation become finalised only after a decade of hectic negotiations.
And we will write the rules in here .No Trumps can change that rule
Yes the feeling is mutual.

A developed Pakistan can be beneficial for the US in the long run.

As far as India is concerned it is obvious that US Interest in India is based on economic reasons instead of strategic ones and now Trump supposed to be dealing with Russia mildly would also negate the strategic claims.

Further I am wondering if Trump would be looking into H1 visa, call centers, IT contracts to fetch back jobs to Americans ?

BUT Veeru Got Hema Malini in the end :D

A good possibility .But then Trump should have to forget the billion dollar defence deals from India. If he is successful in making deals with Russia then it would be more helpful to us
Cooperation cuts both ways

.
So this thread mean, Modi will send his wife to sleep with Trump or himself to exchange for some $$$. India new style of begging. This is the way India show best friendship loves, is to give wife and daughter to other to Fock.

We are dealing with kids from Kindergarten .................. that was the time when we would play this game of "Me and my best friend" ...................... I expect Modi to write an emotional letter to his newly found best friend and that letter should contain an explanation why he hugged Obama. No shame in that....... Gandhi also used to write letters to Hermann Kallenbach (South Africa).
