To be replaced by?The days of Toyota are numbered. They are now like Nokia on the eve of iphone.
To be replaced by?
Full EV lacks infrastructures which is impossible to maintain the grid due to huge demand on electricity that cannot meet impossible requirements if internal engines are to be banned. It is big mistake from VW who are going full EV.Toyota bet on hybrid went wrong terribly. The trend is market opts for full EV.

I have a feeling Toyota is waiting to make the quantum leap directly to Hydrogen fuel cell technology and will keep selling hybrids till then
Myself an engineer, tell you hydrogen fuel is dead. It is totally not efficient.
Hmm.
Hybrids have decent demand for now in India. Toyota and Suzuki together launched a mid sized SUV which claims to deliver 28 km per litre of gasoline. Many people will lap up that kind of fuel efficiency. Charging is difficult for us in apartment living culture.
I am in Portland, Oregon. I want to enjoy driving cross country and see New York City and come back in about 2 weeks. With a Toyota vehicle, I can do it easily. When do you think I will be able to do this in a Full EV? My guess is, not before 2040.Toyota bet on hybrid went wrong terribly. The trend is market opts for full EV.
You can do that now with Tesla and their fast charging networkI am in Portland, Oregon. I want to enjoy driving cross country and see New York City and come back in about 2 weeks. One other thing EV owners are discovering in this blizzard we are having EVs don't charge at temperature below -20 Celsius.
Toyota car is good and getting better day by day.
The car is very well made and well thought.
Except it's more costly than the Chinese car.
For the same price, you can get better features, but the car design is not as good as Toyota.
