BEIJING (AP) — Vietnam pulled out all the stops this week for a visit from China's expected future leader — including flags with an extra star.

The gaffe came during a welcoming ceremony for Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping in Hanoi on Wednesday when children waved flags decorated with six stars.

China's flag has only five stars — one big star surrounded by four smaller ones.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Weimin told reporters Friday that Vietnam had told the Chinese Embassy in Hanoi that it was "a technical error."

Relations between the countries have been strained over competing claims in the potentially oil-rich South China Sea. Vietnam and China signed cooperation agreements on youth affairs and health during Xi's visit.

On August 27 and 28, Dong Nai authorities released forms to collect farmer opinion on whether they want to sue Vedan or accept its compensation.

Most farmers accepted the compensation though they don’t know how much money they would claim from Vedan’s compensation fund, worth 120 billion dong.

Toyota Vietnam on Friday admitted that there were technical problems with nearly 9,000 cars of the Innova model, but said a recall would not be necessary.

Officials from the company said around 8,830 cars of the model may have problems in their brake systems, their screws or their seats. Some 200 cars, for instance, could have braking systems that are more responsive than usual.

Still, Toyota Vietnam said the cars will not be recalled since the technical problems are minor and do not affect driver safety. The company also said it has not received any complaint from customers concerning the problems so far.

I am suspecting that it's fake, it could be created by Photoshop.

Look at the photo, first four stars all have a wing towards center of big star, but fifth star is not so, it's like copping from a previous star.
