London, 13 Dec - We will only be able to defeat ISIS if we confront the Iranian Regime, warns Iranian opposition leader.

Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, made these comments via a video message in a US Senate Briefing.

She said: “There is no doubt that fighting fundamentalism and extremism under the banner of Islam either Shiite or Sunni, can only be made possible through confronting the Iranian regime which is the godfather of fundamentalism and terrorism. In other words, fighting against ISIS cannot be separated from confronting this regime. When the clerical regime is pushed back in the region the world will get that much closer to destroying ISIS.”

The briefing on US policy toward Iran, held at the Senate Kennedy Caucus Room, was attended by senior senators and former national security officials. It was sponsored by the Organization of Iranian-American Communities (OIAC).

Rajavi notes that the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal has grossly failed to either improve the standards of living of the average Iranian or remove the threat of a nuclear Iran.

She said: “Despite a decline in sanctions and transferring a considerable amount of cash to the mullahs’ pocket, the Iranian economy is suffering from recession. Bureaucratic and government corruption, and astronomical stealing by regime officials appear to be endless. The Iranian economy is under the control of the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. They are the only one who will benefit from trade with Iran and not the Iranian people.”

She also notes that the regime has continued to test their nuclear weapons in violation of a UN Security Council resolution.

During the meeting, the lawmakers condemned the Iranian Regime for its interference in Middle Eastern countries and for human rights violations in their own country.

Rajavi noted that nearly 3,000 people have been killed in the “moderate” presidency of Hassan Rouhani; the highest number in 25 years, according to the United Nations.

She said: “In order to create an atmosphere of repression and fear in society, the clerical regime has been executing a large number of victims, in public places.”

The regime has also been funding the Syrian dictator’s war against his own people; if not for the Iranian mullahs, Bashar al-Assad may well have been defeated by the Syrian resistance forces by now.

Rajavi said: “The Iranian people, with more than a century-long struggle for democracy and liberty, deserve a government that respects their fundamental rights. These rights include the freedom of expression, free elections, gender equality and equal rights for religious and ethnic minorities. Such a country would be the herald of peace and tranquillity in the Middle East.”

Also in attendance were; Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee; Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; former Senator Joseph Lieberman, the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Ridge, and Ambassador Mitchell Reiss, former director of policy planning at the State Department.

I think no one knows Iran and its Mullah's regime better than Maryam Rajavi

. .
And no one knows Saudi Arabia better than Abubakr al-Baghdadi. You should listen to some of his speeches too.

Expect that Al-Baghdadi is not Saudi Arabian nor has he ever set foot in KSA unlike Rajavi who is a full-blooded Iranian born and breed in Iran.

He should indeed and if he did he would realize that this Al-Baghdadi personality hardly ever mentions Iran by name but always mentions KSA in very, very negative terms. In fact aside from certain religious rhetoric, Al-Baghdadi sounds very, very similar to the people ruling Iran today.

Your beloved Mullah's in other words.

Yes Baghdadi and Iran's rulers are very similar

Yes, as both Iran and ISIS executes far, far more people than KSA does.
Iran and china execute more people than KSA I agree

But the only country that is like daesh and share the same ideology are KSA and ISIS not the Buddhist communist china or shia majoos rafidi iran

and I am speaking about the ideology not the numbers of executions

What is that ideology?

Do you see oppression, killings or terrorism aimed at non-Muslims in KSA (millions upon millions of people) expect a few sporadic attacks once or twice each year or every second year?

"Only country like ISIS" by being a key Western ally, by being an monarchy, by hosting the largest number of foreign non-Muslims in the Muslim world, having the highest ranked universities in the Muslim world, one of the if not the highest percentages of women university graduates in the Muslim world and 100's of other points.

The only comparison between ISIS and KSA is that the former claims to be an Islamic state and uses punishments derived from Sharia that most Muslim countries use as well in one form or another.

Otherwise ISIS has much more in common with Iran. Both are ruled by people with identical beards, wearing identical black turbans, claiming to be descendants of Prophet Muhammad (saws), both officially claim to be Islamic states and both want to expand in the region. Both oppress their citizens.

Expect for the 26 year old driving ban in KSA, there are many less restrictions in KSA. Something like Facebook, Twitter etc. is banned in Iran by law as well as satellite dishes.

KSA is no liberal paradise at all but when you study the details, ISIS has much more to do with Iran than KSA.

Let's not even talk about how both elites (ISIS and Mullah's) came to power. Out of nowhere with zero historical legitimacy. Another thing that binds them together.

Haha, this becomes funnier and funnier. Al-Baghdadi was once imprisoned in Camp Bucca (US controlled) but he was eventually freed. Khomeini was also once in Western exile (France), another type, but he also left and founded the "Islamic" Republic of Iran. Al-Baghdadi went on to found the "Islamic" State.

Good luck to Iran, Assad and Russia for containing this ISIS menace. Turkey and Saudi Arabia are biggest hypocrites.

.
Kindly keep on topic.

Your post is comedy like this below.
Everyone knows who funded anti-Assad rebel groups and allowed foreign fighters to proliferate ISIS ranks in the hope they would topple Shia regime. Now ISIS has set up base in Bangladesh for recruiting youths for its dirty game. There was ISIS terrorist attack on us in June. We blame Saudi Arabia and Turkey for it.

Yes, as both Iran and ISIS executes far, far more people than KSA does.

Are you joking me? Saudi Arabia by far has worse human rights then Iran. Atleast in Iran there is no religion police, women are allowed to drive cars and minorities are allowed to have churches and temples.

Beheadings, stonings, women getting lashed and a host of other human rights violations are permissible in Saudi Arabia. A large amount of Isis fighters come from Saudi Arabia while almost none come from Iran. Most suicide bombers in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia and many terror plots are linked to the Saudis.

No, KSA is way ahead of Iran in terms of HDI and other international rankings, Mr. fake Russian that claims to be a Jew and claims to be located in Jordan.

There is religious police in Iran

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guidance_Patrol

and the religious police in KSA has hardly any powers left to do anything. Practically they were stripped of all their powers earlier this year but I don't expect an false-flagger to know anything about that.

The 26 year old ban against women driving has nothing to do with religion and is hardly oppressing in the case of Saudi Arabian women as every Saudi Arabian family can afford a car at the least and most can afford private drivers. Unlike in Iran were poverty is rampant in comparison.

The only minorities within Iran that have another religion are Assyrians and Armenians who are not natives and who live in ancestral regions that are now part of Iran. In KSA there are no non-Muslim citizens as all Christian, Jewish, ancient pre-Abrahamic (themselves Semitic) Semitic religions, Hanifs and the minority of Zoroastrians have died out/no longer exist.

There are no stonings in KSA. You cannot find a single footage of a stoning from KSA or even a picture. There have been 1-2 stonings since the 1950's.

In comparison you can find numerous videos of stonings from Iran alone.

Beheadings in KSA are done by swords that could cut you in a half within 1 second and in 1 swing. It is the most humane, quick and painless death. ISIS are not doing beheadings with swords but mostly use knives and such beheadings can last 1-2 minutes if not longer.

In Iran they use to hang people using cranes which can last minutes. Once again there are 1000's of such videos that show that such executions can last minutes.

In KSA executions last 1-2 seconds which again can be confirmed by videos.

Besides France used the guillotine until 1979. Same thing in KSA expect it is done manually but it is as quick and precise.

There have been numerous ISIS members from Iran (a quick search on Google will confirm) and there have been 2000 Saudi Arabian ISIS members which is nothing out of 30 million people and nothing for a fellow Arab country with close ties to neighboring Iraq. There have been more Tunisians (10 million big country) 1000's of km away.

Your last two claims are a lie. There have been many more from Russia alone. In fact Russia is only second to Tunisia.

Anyway it is obvious that you are fake Russian and not only that a hypocrite too because if you were not you would have criticized KSA and Iran equally but you do not. Therefore your "agenda" here is pointless.

Besides as a supposed Russian you are in no position to lecture anyone about anything as your country has the world record in terms of genocides, massacres, mass-murder and everything horrible that you can think about. Your beloved Bolshevik/communism ideology killed 100000 times more people than any ideology in the modern-era expect for Nazism which ironically is a popular ideology among many Russians despite Nazi Germans seeing you people as untermensch and despite Germans killing 30 million of you and burning down your tree houses and villages!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Untermensch

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lebensraum

Also Iran is internationally recognized as the biggest state sponsor of terrorism and Iran is the country that has been sanctioned and isolated by most of the world since 1979, and not KSA, that has excellent ties with all Muslim nations (99%) and all world powers, expect for your Putin-rulled Russia, although ties are not as bad as people believe.

Only @alarabi aka @Arabi aka Al-Butthurti can make such a stupid thread. welcome back, hope you enjoyed the show in Aleppo. As far as I remember the fat prince wanted to intervene in Syria but he was mocked by the Iranian general.

Iranian commander mocks Saudi offer to intervene in Syria

The head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard said on Saturday Saudi Arabia lacked the courage to go through with a plan to send ground troops to Syria, and warned they would be wiped out if they went in.

Mohammad Ali Jafari's blunt words on the Fars news agency were Iran's first official reaction to a statement from its regional rival Saudi Arabia this week that it was ready to join ground operations in Syria if a U.S.-led military alliance decided to start them.

"(The Saudis) have made such a claim but I don't think they are brave enough to do so ... Even if they send troops, they would be definitely defeated ... it would be suicide,” Jafari was quoted as saying.

Btw. Dont get me wrong, I strongly condemn death penalty in any way and do not want to justify it in any way that it happens in Iran but it is Saudi Arabia that beheads people.

Isis came mainly from Iraq when maliki left mosul and back then isis was called islamic state in iraq they poured in syria when syrians were mostly peaceful in their revolution and had no experience in war like isis did and by the way isis used american weapons they looted in irak to take over syrians cities

.
baghdadi and khemenai are same. infact khamenai supporters killed more civilians during bloody revolution.
both fought muslims. iran-iran war, current wars in yemen, syria, iraq.
both killed opponents. all ex government people were killed.
both killed civilians. all previous government political workers were slaughtered in iran.
both spread sectarian violence. iranian revolutionaries are calling sectarian wars islamic conquest and opponents sunni as non muslims.
both are dictatorships. anyone against Khemenai dicision is convicted as enemy of GOD.
both guarantees heaven for killing people. Keys and passports given to people fighting in wars.
both spreading terror groups. besides middle east pakistan have also face iranian backed terrorist.
and lot more similarities are there. infact khemenai will easily win the competition. if you along with specialities also count the numbers.

i hate iranians when they talk about al saud while ignoring their own situation. Iran is the current winner in terrorism.and also can easily win noble prize for bowing the seed of hate in middle east through iranian backed shia militias.
