Two suicide bombers killed in Mian Gundi FC post attack; 15 policemen injured in Airport Road attack

QUETTA: At least eight security personnel were martyred and 15 others injured as three suicide bombers attacked police and Frontier Corps (FC) paramilitary force in the Balochistan capital on Tuesday evening.
One bomber detonated his explosives near a police truck on Airport Road near Mehfil Hotel, martyring at least eight personnel and injuring 15 others, rescue and security officials told The Express Tribune.
The martyred are identified as Nisaar Ahmed s/o Kareem Bakhsh, Jamal khan s/o Yar Muhammad, Shah Nawaz S/o M Sikandar, Ahmed Ali s/o Abdul Ghani, Ashiq Ali s/o Subhan Shah, Zahoor Ahmed, Eid Khan and the identity of the eighth could not be ascertained.
“It is a suicide attack,” Balochistan police chief Moazzam Jah Ansari said.
Half an hour earlier, two suicide bombers tried to attack an FC checkpoint in Mina Ghundi area near the western bypass, but troops deployed there engaged them.
The troops deployed at the checkpost opened fire at the attackers, who detonated their explosives, wounding at least eight soldiers.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) also confirmed the attacks.

According to Civil Hospital spokesperson Wasim Baig, 15 injured were brought to the hospital and being treated by Dr Arbab Kamran and the team.

Bomb disposal squad reached the two sites and started their investigation.
