Three killed by bomb at Danish mission in Pakistan
Mon Jun 2, 2008 1:19pm

ISLAMABAD, June 2 (Reuters) - A bomb went off outside the Danish embassy in the Pakistani capital on Monday killing at least three people and wounding several, a Reuters witness said.

The blast destroyed the embassy gate and damaged the building and vehicles in the compound in the up-market district of Islamabad where other missions and diplomats houses are located.

"It was a bomb blast. We have three dead and three wounded," said a city official at the scene, Rana Akbar.

Reuters correspondent Kamran Haider said one body was just inside the gate of the embassy and two were outside.

The blast, apparently caused by a car bomb, left a crater about three feet (one metre) deep on the road, Haider said.

Television pictures showed considerable damage to the mission and nearby buildings and vehicles. One of the dead appeared to be a Pakistani guard.

Danish newspapers infuriated Muslims around the world when they published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in late 2005.

Although off topic, i kinda find it amazing how every time an incident such as this happens, indians are the fist one to post such news.Every terrorist thread is being updated by an indian.Wow. Its like they have nothing else to do rather then sitting over the internet and finding anything, any news, any article that could prove their point of pakistan as a terroist nation.
Coming back to the original topic, well you never know, someone might have taken advantage cashing such situations just to give pakistan a bad name in the international community.

were is security of diplomatic places of pakistan ?no body secure in pakistan

:undecided:Is it related to Danish cartoons.

They are still hung up over it?

This is really utter non-sense. How is this blast going to serve any purpose whatsoever? Didn't a Pakistani guard die?

Very Sad and Unecessary. It could however be a plot to give Pakistan a bad name in the EU.

Regards

You mean an outside hand? I doubt that.

Outside hand does not always mean someone from a foreign intelligence agency. It could be deluded foreigner ( the kind that live for jihad) with an ulterior motive. After all this will shock us in the EU much more than it would shock someone in Asia.

Regards

It is amazing that the west has gone sooo far in military technology and yet after a decade on war on terror none has came up with a anti bomb devices? and if these terrorists sole purpose is to kill kaffirs then why do innocent Muslims have to die without ever to get their objective done? very strange..

:undecided:Is it related to Danish cartoons.

No they don't like the food , ofcourse they are still angry at the Cartoons,Iran has already given a fatwa against them. The the danish news paper editor is so stuborn that he could have just said sorry like the Fench Designer and things would have been ok, but no even the Danish Government didn't put pressure on the media to say sorry.
On the other side it is unfortunate for us that there are people in our country who will do any thing to damage Pakistan's image all around the world for there own agenda.

But why should the editor apologize when he does not see a need to? Why should the Danish Government pressure the editor when there is no law stating that it should?

Why should things just be okay? Simply to appease a section of the global populace that is less tolerant?

If what has been printed is offensive, ignore it; if somebody wants to express protest, do so in a civil manner.

Those cartoons, no matter how offensive, are not an excuse for terrorism.
