Three Iranian Revolutionary Guards killed near Pakistan border| Reuters
DUBAI Mon Dec 29, 2014 6:18am EST

(Reuters) - Three members of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), sent to reinforce border police, were killed in an attack in the southeast of Iran near Pakistan, according to Iranian media reports on Monday.

Armed "bandits" killed the IRGC members late on Sunday near the city Saravan in the Sistan-Baluchistan region, according to a Revolutionary Guards statement carried by Fars news agency.

Similar attacks, usually against police officers and border guards, happen in the border region several times a year.

Sistan-Baluchistan has history of unrest with the mainly Sunni Muslim population complaining of discrimination by Iran's Shi'ite Muslim authorities. The area is also rife with drug and arms traffickers.

The report did not give the identity of the armed group.

In February, Jaish al-Adl (Army of Justice), a Sunni Muslim militant group with links to al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for kidnapping five Iranian border guards and taking them to Pakistan. One was killed and the others were freed in April.

7 injured as Iranian border guards fire rockets in Balochistan's Kech
QUETTA: Iranian border guards fired dozens of rockets in Balochistan's Kech district on Sunday night, officials said.

Levies sources told Dawn that Iranian border guards fired 42 rockets in Kech's Zamuran area, located close to the border. They said the rockets landed at a village in Zamuran and injured seven Pakistani civilians.

"The injured persons were rushed to District Hospital Turbat for treatment," Levies sources said.

Separately, Levies sources said that armed men had attacked a checkpost in Koh-e-Sor inside Iranian territory and killed three Iranian officials on Sunday evening.

Panic prevailed among people as Iranian border guards continued to fire rockets inside Pakistani territory the entire night.

Levies and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel rushed to the area to defend the border.

When FC and Levies personnel reached the border, Iranian border guards stopped firing rockets, Levies sources added.

Iran has alleged that the assailants who attacked the Iranian checkpost sneaked inside Pakistan. The allegation is vehemently denied by Pakistani officials.

Last month, the Foreign Office had lodged a strong protest with Iran, after the neighbouring country’s border guards stormed into Pakistani territory and killed a security official.

Security on both sides of the border was tightened in the aftermath of untoward incidents at the border. Pakistan shares a 900 km long porous border with Iran and the two countries had recently decided to boost intelligence coordination to wipe out terrorists from the area.

Pakistani and Iranian officials had met in the Iranian city of Mir Java, to boost mutual cooperation and understanding to cope with the menace of terrorism at the border.

Why are people talking about nukes? It's a sad incident that a soldier lost his life and people should just leave it at that.

We can, because as in your own words ''world has changed'' so when we are facing a situation that we are threatened by **** nukes we can forge an alliance with Indians.

Well, that is you. I support Iran-India military alliance and i consider India as a friendly nation. Maybe because you have your other flag as **** stan you are influenced i dnt know but majority of Iranians support closer relations with India.

Soon when we negotiate our final deal with USA then there is nothing in the way of closer Iran India relations.

An no one dares to nuke Iran, its just that **** troll claiming this. Not even in his wahabi-saudi-**** dreams is this possible.

You are a fool. Only a fool would trust his own security in the hand of another state. Maybe you are an Indian. Who knows? Official stand of India is for Iran to remain a weak nation and under sanctions, so that they can get Iranian oil for cheap by paying Iran in Arsenic laced rice.

The Saudi's funded our nuclear program when the whole world was against us, for that reason Pakistan already has an understanding with KSA over a nuclear umbrella. It's something similar to what USA had with NATO nations. It will only happen if Iran happens to become a nuclear power, which seems like an after thought now. So there won't be a situation where KSA has nuclear weapons but Iran does not, only if Iran gets them will we place troops in KSA.
If Iran had funded us instead of KSA then things might have been in Iran's favor today.

They also funded the salafist/wahabi ideology in pakistan apart from nukes.

RIP to all the killed soldiers.

One question, during Iran-Iraq decade long war, who did Pakistan side with?

.
ask your compatriot why he threatened a fellow islamic republic neighbour with nukes.
I have no idea why he is replying in such a manner but it’s best just to ignore it rather than attack all of Pakistan.
