Three Chinese held after downing drone over new Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD – Authorities on Thursday arrested three Chinese nationals after shooting down an unidentified drone over the newly constructed Islamabad airport.

The foreign nationals were trying to film the new airport using the drone when the officials of Airport Security Force (ASF) noticed the device and shot down it.

Later, the officials arrested the suspects and took the wreckage into custody. An investigation has been launched into the matter.

very good this happened shows that authorities are not afraid of taking action against Chinese if they need to...great reduces my fear of pakistan becoming a colony lol.

There are over 40-50,000 Chinese working in Pakistan.

Majority are good people , doing their job.

Than there are some problematic people.

Some thugs involved in ATM fraud,rioting n fighting with police ... happens everywhere I guess...

Don't be paranoid, it will never happen. Even if we got a bad deal, the rewards would still be too juicy to consider it a loss.

Overkill much? They just wanted a good view, airport security has always been paranoid post 9/11.

ASF just doing their job. There is a NOTAM over IIAP, all flying objects are restricted at the moment.

No need to make a big deal out of it, drones near airports are becoming far too common sadly. Dangerous.
