What's new

this temple is going to outshine Taj Mahal !

No way taj mahal has it's own charm + it was built in17th centuary you can't compare it with a modern day building

There is no way anything anywhere can compare with the Taj.

Its in its own league & no structure can ever come close to it.

The colour & design reminds me of some of the replicas created in Macau

Yes I do have a problem with Hindu Temples being built with Islamic or Christian style architecture.

I see it as a step of digesting Hindu culture and excreting out glorification of our Invaders and Oppressors.

There perversity of the whole act is more glaring than the beauty.

They are free to use this style of architecture for ANY other building other than a Temple.

When they do that to a temple this is what it is equivalent too. A Man dressed as a Women. Do you find this Beautiful ?

Why is that not "beautiful" ? :coffee:

One is a Temple dressed as a Cathedral or a Mosque.

Other is a Man dressed as a Women.

Clearly what I am trying to prove is beyond your understanding. Hopefully others are no so thick and will get the essences of my message.

Every temple architecture follows a certain Architectural philosophy which is an extension of Hindu Philosophy. A dilution of that is a dilution of the Philosophy it is supposed to spread and support. "Sai baba" was a Sindhi Muslim so any structure to him is not a "temple", nor is he a Hindu "god".

Everyone is free to do what they want in Hindu India. Even Men can dress like Women and walk in public. There is nothing to "complain" since the Hindu society is not "intolerant". But it is one thing to tolerate perversity and quite another to celebrate it.

Not even close, and the design is beyond stupid. Why on earth did they pick that European, Islamic influenced design?

Why Indeed ?

Ignorance OR something more Sinister ?

If one is spending Millions of $ then I don't think they can afford to be Ignorant. So the ONLY other alternative is ..............

I dont think there's anything sinister behind it, it's layout is done in Hindu fashion, but it's look is nothing like what Hindu works would look like back in the Gupta empire onward.

. . . .
In south india i like the architecture of Brihadeeswarar Temple (tanjore) and there are more interesting facts about that temple and it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Ambrish Das aka Albert Ford is a devout Hare Krishna, so there is nothing sinister about it. It is just that his cultural legacy overpowers his sense of asthestics when it comes to temples.

Alankara is very important Hindu principle. The whole temple though reflects Hindu cosmology.

You are confusing the issue.

Alankara is a very important principle for replicating and appreciating Beauty. Since the Human eyes, ears, tongue etc has natural limitations the way we recognise and respond to beauty is limited by our panchendriya (5 senses).

By the spectrum of visible light we can see, the frequencies we can hear etc.

The Architecture of the temple is correctly the representation of the cosmos and the garbha griha as the centre of this cosmos where the Deity sits. Since we view and understand the cosmos with our limited senses and since our body is made in proportion to the cosmos and in relation to it, the Temple architecture also represents the self and ability to recharge the self.

Yes I am aware of it. But I am not yet convinced that the attempt to make a temple look like a cathedral is not a way to diminish the Hindu Philosophy and values the temple is expected to nurture and spread.
