This is really amaze me, the video of long queue taken at 1:30am, 5 hours before the flag-raising ceremony :o:
They waited that long in cold of night to be the first to see their flag raising at the sunrise (~6:00am)

Thats not love for their country. Its rampant nationalism. They dont love their country, they hate all others.

I called it's Patriotism & Pride. As a Non-Chinese you will hard to understand that.
For Chinese people, Country is their parents. Their father & their mother

Hate all others?

I think you mean US of A, who bombed 100 countries in the last 100 years.

Meanwhile, Chinese not bomb anyone in the last 50 years

They don't have to hate all others in order to have this kind of feeling towards their country. Anyone who feels inadequate about himself loves to join some mass movement/activity that helps hide his own inadequacy behind a glorified facade. Truly self-confident folks don't do that.

I am a patriot. I love my country but not with such laughable shows.

I completly agree. To act like that, shows extreme insecurity

For you it's laughable shows.

But
For Chinese people, it's how they say thank you to their country.

I cannot blame you. You living in Greece.
If you living in China from 1980s to present days.
You will understand, why they so love their country & their government
Loving one's country is actually an illusory concept. Nobody really loves his country. All he loves is his good memory in his country. Therefore, even if he lives in China from 1980s to present days, he still may not understand why they so love their country & their government, unless his own memory in China is a good one. Not everyone living China has an overall good memory.

Like I said before, for you who live in western countries. You will hard to understand that.
Western culture then to be more individualism & self love more than the Chinese Culture

Chinese people even queue in the middle of rain, to pay respect & thank you to the people who important for their country.
Western people will call this rampant nationalism and laughable show

But not for Chinese people

Naturally, in the West or in China, everyone loves himself. Without it, you won't reach adulthood. Beyond that, people tend to love their families because of blood bond. That is pretty much it. Anything beyond is nothing but brainwashed illusion that will shatter when push comes to shove. In another word, individualism is the main part of human nature and collectivism takes only a small part (family).

How these people show their affection towards their country may be laughable to western people, just like how those north korean people show their affection towards their supreme leader may be laughable to Chinese people. I think it is just a matter of degree in those unnatural acts.

Ignore these two hypocritical people. This is a military forum. Netizens in forums like this have nationalism.
If you have time, you can search their post threads.
They just want to occupy the moral high ground and criticize others. This actually shows their hypocrisy and lack of security. They are afraid of what they cannot understand, so they need to show their superiority.

According to Canadian.

Ok

That is a very naive assumption which shows the lack of life experience. I joined this forum because I like military knowledge and I live military knowledge because I grew up in the military. Chinese military actually for that matter. What does it have to do with nationalism? Or is it just another case of you to misuse English word? You could have all the nationalism you want but you probably got no military life experience whatsoever.

Sorry for your burnt ego. But expecting other people to have the same affection as yourself is a disease. One of my college classmates hates China and I don't blame her even though my own memory in China is fairly positive but mostly in youth. Her dad was abused to death during the cultural revolution and he was actually of a high position in China government at that time. Her life should have been comfortable but it was shattered after his death. Folks with rampant nationalism fever will never understand suffering endured by their own neighbors.
