US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas has said that the United States does not have any worries about who will win the next tenth election. He was speaking to reporters after a meeting between Peter Haas and the Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday (June 8th).

The US ambassador said, "The United States is not thinking about who will win the next tenth election in Bangladesh. But the United States wants free and fair national elections in the future. "

The diplomat in the US hopes that this time there will be a political compromise in the participatory election.

EC dialogue with election observers on June 9

My dear Alga Momen, what is this? Why Ambassador Hass should be allowed to meet the election commissioner?

You must say something to safeguard BD prestige. Hass action is totally unacceptable. You must demand an apology from him for interfering with our NEUTRAL and FAIR electorate system.

Please shout, "Down with America"!!! Our great election system is not any of America's business. Do not poke your dirty nose in our affairs.

Joy Bangladesh!!!

Does US have a “fair electorate system”?

Both bush and Trump became president despite losing the vote by millions.

African Americans are systematically denied the vote by all manner of shenanigans like:

1. Making it hard to register
2. Offering fewer places to vote and middle of nowhere. Leading to hours of queues in scorching heat.
3. Tricking voters with leaflets that change the date and places to vote.
4. Hounding NGOs that help poor to register to vote

Etc etc

Pot calling the kettle black!!!

US only gives BD money because they are terrified that China will build a naval base In Chittagong hahaha

How can we forget that America is a Razakar country that supported Pakistan in 1971. And, now Ambassador Hass is talking just like another Razakar from the BNP. Where is @Atlas?

Please watch how dare this Razakar talking about unfair election. She must be hanged by the BAL Kangaroo Court on the soil of the Holy land of Bangladesh.

I like this lady Rumeen Farhana. She argues on some excellent points, all factual.

Don't know much about her but she is well educated and seems confident. Unless she has big skeletons in her closet, BNP can organise around her, split from religion based parties and launch a progressive looking campaign.
BNP has nothing to lose, might as well try something new.

What this means is that the US will no longer have any issues with BD's quasi-dictatorship.:-)

Like I said they cannot do much to BD like they carried out "regime change" in Pakistan with ease.

BD government and military are totally united in a single national goal of economic development and the US is well smart enough to know that.

Us has too many bigger fish to fry than get involved in BD politics.

As long as Hasina doesn’t antagonise the US e.g. publicly cosying up to Putin - US will largely grandstand around democracy.

US likes bleating on about democracy even though they have never practiced it.

They used to preach freedom to USSR whilst having segregation laws and lynching.

Why would Hasina “cosy” up to Putin?

She is a smart politician at the end of the day and anyway Russia does not have that much to offer BD.

Not sure whether you saw the hysterics on pdf a little while ago about “regime change” in BD unless it falls into line over Ukraine?

Well BD is still neutral and US has publicly stated its acceptance of BD’s current system.

Again people talking about things above their knowledge levels - lol.

Yes, after watching a few video clips when she was speaking in Parliament, I have become quite fond of Rumeen Farhana.

However, one senior guy long ago told me jokingly that if our politicians cannot even talk, how can he/she is a politician. Big talking seems to be quite a good quality for a BD politician.

However, she speaks with data in her hand. I am for Reza Kibria, Rumeen Farhana and other young people. Reza understands the national economic matters quite clearly.

Seems many of them will join BNP. I hope they clean the BNP mess and do not go for that thief called Tareque.

A second cousin of mine is a big wig in BNP LOL. He says Reza is too arrogant for BD’s retail politics.

Scandinavia, Japan, Germany and Benelux - is about technocratic politics.

US, U.K., India, Bangladesh has always been about retail politics.

An informed and educated population engages on technical details.

An uninformed and disengaged population prefers “trust” - that trust is gained through retail politics.

Reza Kibria should rejoin BAL and take up the finance ministry.

Current finance minister has socialist tendencies and is way above his depth!

I meant Hasina would never do an Imran Khan. She has learnt from her father’s mistakes.

Appoint himself as the spokes person for Muslims. Go and meet Putin in public lol

Mujib also liked the limelight - publicly embracing US enemies like Indira, Castro to Arafat. Made BD a pariah.
