The Unforgettable Words of Late General Hamid Gul

Hamid gul talking about Afghanistan is a joke, he has a big mouth nothing more. Guy planned and executed a failed opreation and was later sacked by benazir govt.

Really!!

You went to defeat USSR in Afghanistan!!

We got it. We need to amend the history. :sarcastic:

If the whole world hates me I can as easily with look of scorn say 'piff sah whatever'. But in the real world everything has a ramification. Counttries that do well leverage everything and all opportunities. Countries that don't miss out on opportunities right under their noses. So it is with Pakistan.

Central Asia. One of the worlds resource region with massive gas and oil reserves with a industrial belt further north in Russia that produces most of that countries heavy industrial productts including hi-technology sector. All this to Pakistan is like continental Europe is to UK. Whereas million trucks roll across from Europe into UK and vice versa there is almost zero trade between Pakistan and Central Asia.

In fact Central Asia is more connected by pipelines to Europe and Turkey then Pakistan despite it being closer to Islamabad then Karachi.

Gawdar and Pakistan should have been trading and energy hubs for Central Asia instead of far off Europe or even Turkey. Tajikistan has massive hydro potential yet small population. That means cheap electricity for Pakistan as Tajikistan is just 70 miles across the Wakhan Corridor.

But alas all this potential is lost. We have countries that go across the other side of globe to leverage the opportunities. Pakistan can't even use the opportunities sat right next door. Reason? Have a look at the map. Afghanistan comes in the way. It is the doorway to all that potential.
What are you talking about?

Work is already in progress since the start of this year to build $1.17 billion transmission lines to import excess electricity from central Asia to Pakistan via Afghanistan.

The project is to be completed by the end of next year Insha'Allah.

Does it go to Mars and then drop down into Pakistan? Or does it go through a certain country?

I agree. Low IQ Pakistani media makes heroes of these people. I would have like to ask this idiot. Okay. ISI defeated USA. But please tell us exactly what benefit did Pakistan awaam get?

  • still poor
  • terrorism has ripped the country apart
  • Afghans hate Pakistan

You don't have your arch rival sandwiching you from the West.

Both are different things. Pak helping afghans fight is different and operation jalalabad is different. Also hamid gul came as chief when sovits have already left and PDPA govt was in power.

i Remember when he was the core commander in multan, his oldest daughter committed suicide. Heard that broke him down and blamed himself for failing her. God knows what the truth is.
As a kid in fifth grade in Amy public school, he visited and put his hand on my head and said May Allah bless you, for a reason i dont know why.

Yes for me those were unforgettable words for me.
his oldest daughter committed suicide ? Are you sure brother ?

Yes brother, 100% sure about it. i remember it was a hush hush back then, rumors were around, no one talked openly about it, she was buried in multan aviation area graveyard…
that when he was leading 2nd corp multan, may it was 1990 or 1991.

All the three points are for civilians governments to tackle. The military fights wars and intelligence fights secret war. Given the meagre budget military gets, its doing a commendable job.

Those who are barking at General are only keyboards warriors. Their only achievemen in life is trolling
So according to your logic a general should not be held accountable for his failures?

Afghans hate each other to death. Their approval or lack thereof is absolutely irrelevant.
