Donetsk People's Republic has complete self-sufficiency in electricity, Director of the Department of Electricity of the DPR Ministry of Coal and Energy Elena Styazhkina announced at a press conference yesterday.
“At present, the DPR doesn’t buy electricity from Ukraine, even less so from the Russian Federation. The Starobeshevo and Zuevskaya thermal power plants (TPP) produce enough electricity for the purposes of the DPR. Every hour, the four units in these two TPPs generate about 1,000 MW/hour of electricity. This quantity is enough to cover all the needs of the population and enterprises in the country,” - Elena Styazhkina said.
