Prime suspect in the murder of Shahzeb Khan, Shahrukh Jatoi could have managed to escape to the UAE soon after the incident, sources told Express News on Friday.
Express News correspondent Rehan Khan said that per documents received from the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), Shahrukh Sikander Jatoi indicated that he may have fled to the UAE on December 27, 2012.
Shahrukh had allegedly been killed Shahzeb on December 25.
It was previously believed that Shahrukh, whose name has been included in the exit control list (ECL) may have managed to escape to Australia, where he had been pursuing higher education.
On Friday, the Supreme Court lauded Express News anchor Shahzeb Khan’s show To the point, for tracing out the suspects and covering the incident.
Police too were in action on Friday with at least three known locations of the Jatois in Karachi being raided. In Hyderabad, at least one cement factory after police raided the premises in search of Shahrukh.

Police given 24 hours to arrest Shahzeb’s killers

ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court on Friday gave 24 hours to Sindh Police to arrest the killers of Shahzeb Khan warning it of stern action in case of failure.Shahzeb, 20, a son of a DSP, was killed on the night of December 24 at Sabaha Avenue in Karachi reportedly over a trivial argument with influential Siraj Talpur and Shahruk Jatoi. The murder of the popular student created uproar in the social and national media, and civil society at large.A three-judge bench directed Inspector General Sindh Fayyaz Leghari to ensure the arrest of the accused within 24 hours and submit report at SC Registrar Office, failing which the IGP and other officials shall be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.The bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and including Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Azmat Saeed, asked the Sindh Additional IGP Muhammad Leghari, who was present, to submit the report on the arrest of murderers and their abettors by today (January 05), or he “should come on Monday without uniform”.The Sindh IGP and advocate general’s absence irked the chief justice. Additional Sindh IGP Muhammad Rafiq and additional advocate general Kasim Mir Jat told the court that the IGP and AG could not come due to cancellation of flights. The chief justice, referring to a previous case, said: “The IGP was saved in the last case but do tell him that in this case he will not be pardoned.”A DVD containing interview of Sikandar Jatoi, father of accused Shahruk Jatoi, conducted by a private TV channel, was played in the courtroom in the presence of the Sindh police officials. According to the interview Shahrukh has left the country on the night of the murder.But additional IGP said that according to their information Shahrukh was in Pakistan. He also presented a report of the incident stating that some influential people were hindering the investigation and the arrest of the suspects and the police have failed to arrest any of the nominated accused. The chief justice remarked that the inference can be drawn from it that the police knew about the whereabouts of the accused but was reluctant to proceed faster in the matter. He said the whole world knows about the case but police have no certain information. The court said if an anchorperson of private TV channel could talk to Shahrukh’s father but police cannot access him due to sheer negligence. The CJ said that the delay in the case was part of attempts at pushing the case to the sidelines, and he directed the police to confiscate properties and seize the bank accounts of Shahzeb’s killers. The hearing was adjourned until January 7.

KARACHI: Police arrested Siraj Talpur – one of the suspects in Shahzeb Khan’s murder case – on Saturday from Naushahro Feroze, Express News reported.
The other suspect, Shahrukh Jatoi, is still at large.
The car from which Shahzeb was shot at was also recovered.
Shahzeb was shot dead near his home in Defence last week. A popular student and son of DSP Aurangzaib, Shahzeb’s murder created an uproar in civil society.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on January 1 took suo motu notice of the murder and ordered for a report to be presented in court.
Background
Shahzeb was killed allegedly by Shahrukh Jatoi near Mubarak Masjid in DHA on December 25.
The killing resulted from a small argument he had with Talpur, when the latter’s servant verbally harassed his sister.
Talpur and his friend, Jatoi, allegedly followed Shahzeb, even after the issue was settled, and shot him dead.

"this unfortunate incident is mis reported based on my knowledge as i get to know accused talpur.
some mis reported facts:
shahrukh jatoi and talpur didnt knew each other.
shahzeb badly beaten the servant which is understandable but when jatoi tried to free him shahzeb badly abused jatoi for quite long and hit him as well it seems only reason jatoi got involved was because servant was being beaten on road and traffic got blocked.
shahzeb father was also involved in beating and when he came to know he is son of sikander his father tried to get them patched up.
they did patched up and and suddenly shahzeb went to his cousin who is son of nabeel gabol and brought his armed guards and said ab bhen???? bolo.
talpur got overly angered after seeing his beaten servant.
again argument happened which probably lead to this unfortunate death.
this is no issue of feudalism but bad behavior and bad parenting on all sides and unfortunate chaos we live in as late shahzeb was very abusive all along.
reason behind wiritng this is to tell the truth that i got to know May Allah bless the deceased."

KARACHI: Earlier believed to have fled the country, Shahrukh Jatoi, is still in Pakistan, Express News quoted Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sources as saying Saturday.

Shahrukh Jatoi, the prime suspect in Shahzeb Khan’s murder had, according to earlier reports, fled to the UAE on December 27.

New evidence however, suggests otherwise.

The documents taken from Shahrukh Jatoi’s father pertaining to his travel have revealed that he is still in Pakistan, the FIA source said.

According to the source, the documents saying he had gone to the UAE were fake.

Raids have been conducted in Karachi and Islamabad but no one has been caught yet, suggesting that the perpetrators might be tipped off.

Shahrukh Jatoi is wanted for allegedly gunning down 20-year-old Shahzeb over a small argument.

Both Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur are wanted by the police as they are the prime suspects in the case.

The Supreme Court took suo motu notice of the case after the news spread that influential people were creating hurdles in their arrest.

In its first hearing, the police were ordered to arrest the suspects within 24 hours or risk losing their jobs.
