The great life expectancy contest: North Korea vs India

Having been economically blocked by the American regime for more than half a century,
North Korea is still doing better than the world's biggest western-style English-dominant democracy
in terms of life expectancy (and many other health and inclusive growth index).

There are of course many countries doing worse than NK in this area,
but none has ever claimed they are the Supa Powa, which, does not reflect in some basic health determinants.

How is this happening?

NK is like China in 60s, however, its a tiny country, when policy is right, ease down the tension with surrounding countries, then its not that difficult to improve life expectancy

However in India's case, its a massive country, with complicated social and political system, combined with awkward governmant and working ethic, I dont think India will be at NK's current level in any time soon```it'd be lucky if not getting worse```

Hi, many countries are doing worse than NK for different reasons.
They all have legitimate trajectory to do much better in the future.

The reason SP2012 is singled out because, it is the only country that is doing worse than NK but
in the sometime they are obsessed with supa powa glory.

There is nothing shameful to do worse than NK, but it is shameful when you do worse than NK but talk like you have HDI like 0.99.

Next time I will talk about anaemia where Pakistan is doing way better than SP2012.

But SP2012 is the only country bragging about high HDI and supa powa in the same time.

There is huge irony in this coexistence of two contradictory narratives,
one is extremely poor standards of health worse than NK and many SSA countries ,
