The Fight against PKK Terrorism

That's true that PKK lost influince in Sinjar, and PMU has upper hand. PKK decided to send one new "Shia" battalion to Sinjar, to try to get more influince from the people.

In the end, wherever the PMU/ISF goes the PKK gets thrown out. Can't say the same about wherever Barzanistan or PUK merga goes.

PMU did what ErdoBarzani couldn't do. Erdogan calls the PMU terrorists whilst they just kicked out the PKK, the merga instead shared arms with the PKK and share borders with them for years. Nice foreign policy, and you wonder why the PKK is growing, you're supporting them.

Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) have pushed out the Kurdistan's Workers Party (PKK) from areas south of the Yazidi-majority Sinjar region in northern Iraq.

Shiite Hashd sweeps PKK group from Shingal region
Great news....i wonder why there were no news about it in the Turkish media.

The name tag given to them is not important. The decisive factor of allegiance depends on their command, before PMU arrival the situation was that the YBS (Yazidi/Ezidi units) were strongly influenced by the PKK given the absence of the PMU/ISF. With the arrival of the PMU they forced these Yazidi units to change command/allegiance.

Yazidis have been at odds with Barzani for many reasons thus they sided with the YPG/PKK, that changed now.

As this article states,

The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the Yezidi region of Sinjar (Shingal) in northern Iraq, and its local affiliate the Shingal Resistance Units (YBŞ) oppose the presence of the Shia paramilitary Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) that in May captured the south of Sinjar from ISIS.

“I think that the PKK resents the presence of the PMU because the latter represents a threat to the PKK’s long-term influence in Sinjar. Young men have left the YBŞ, just as they are leaving the Peshmerga, to join the PMU,”

Simply said, before PMU arrival the PKK/YPG was the strongest nearest force for Yazidis(YBS) to ally with, PMU came and took over as the force with the upper hand. PKK/YPG can't do much against PMU thus they lost their influence in Sinjar region.

Maybe you should get rid of Barzani and have PMU rule Qandil as well.

As long as one is sunni erdogan will do anything.

Erdogan will support sunni barzani against Iraki Sii Turkmens which he already did. Mezhepci serefsiz. He left the Turkmens to themselves and then they obviously have to support themselves.

That arap didnt learn from Selim and Ismail.

I am Sunni but to me it does not matter Sii or Sunni.

Look how beatiful this sounds. We cant leave our Syrian and Iraqi Turkmen brothers to themselves. This mezhepci poison is spreading to us aswell.

It's true, there was an article on a Iraqi Kurdish website saying several Yezidi's had defected and joined up with newly formed PMU Yezidi militia and that just like KDP, PKK had pressured them and didn't allow them to travel to link up with PMU.

Seems like Yezidi's don't feel much for getting in on all the fighting going on in the region. Think they just want to take care of themselves.

What you think about the coming election in North Iraq.

What you think about the coming election in North Iraq.

Referendum, see: https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/kurdistan-region-to-hold-independence-referendum-on-sept-25.500406/

will not have any major impact.

Also Turkey just wanted KRG against their referendum. KRG lacks the support of neighbors and superpower(US), hence their referendum will be nothing but a paper vote. It's a quick attempt to get away with lands that they very likely could lose after IS is dealt with.

The statement added that on June 5-9, Turkish forces located 10 terrorist hideouts in caves and seized an M-16 infantry rifle, two sniper rifles, 26 AK-47s, and many other hand grenades and bombs, as well as food and 650 liters of diesel oil.

More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-long armed campaign in July 2015.
