The Day India's Mighty SU-30 Fired in Anger

Please tell us what was IAF command expecting after conducting a botched up airstrike on Pakistani soil?
The same calm that has preserved post the so called swift retort, until now.

At best, the airborne hooliganism showcased and exploited IAFs over confidence in its abilities and lack of preparedness based on PAFs lack of initiative historically in crossing the LoC.

How far these gaps have been addressed will only be seen in another scenario if and when we make a U turn on peace. The strategy has been exposed and there's no more need as long as Pakistan is trying to be on FATFs white list.

ANti aircraft fire as in expensive missiles or AAA positions ? We don't have AAA guns dotting every mile of the border.. trainer aircraft aren't meant for that type of mission.

Why not? More expensive than the cost per flying hour for a Su 30? More AAA guns are always better. The Germans in World War 2 manufactured and deployed 21,000 , 88 mm Flak guns.
One of your trainer aircraft like Hawk MK 132 equipped with 30 mm. canon could easily take down a balloon.

we're at a 100 years forth, not back at the moment, right ?
No, even 100 years back the global mindset was far more advanced than what the mindset in India is today.

but then again those auto cannons are rapid burst. even a second or so long press can almost empty the magazine.
the anger part maybe correct. the SU 30 might not be able to get a missile lock so got a visual and switched to cannons.
well done that it didnt get caught in the fire blast. those Baloons are used as area denials in choke points in narrow mountain passes and valleys at low height.

if anyone been to Kahuta then they are common sight while travelling through Kahuta to Azad Kashmir.

Hi,

In true sense---and after pakistani posters come out of their stupid mode---this was a great feat by the SU30 pilot---.

Shooting down balloon or very slow moving aircraft is an extremely difficult task---a next to impossible task---.

Haan yaaro, your nation's engineering expertise is needed here also... Tell me again how jealousy of Indian expat engineering skills caused us to post this thread. Maybe someone at Hindustan Times is similarly jealous.
