For one year, Dispatches follows the police and people of Islamabad as Pakistan's capital battles to overcome an unprecedented wave of terrorist attacks, providing a powerful insight into a normally closed world in which everyone battles to survive the daily threat of death with courage and resilience.

Pakistan is in chaos; more than 3,500 people have been killed in suicide blasts in the past three years. Only a few years ago, attacks in the capital were rare, but disparate terrorist groups are increasingly working together and Islamabad has become their ultimate target.

Featuring intimate, direct-to-camera interviews of startling candour - from a teenage girl whose best friend was blown up, to the Inspector General of Police - Dispatches follows those affected as they attempt to continue their lives on the frontline of a war on terror - and refuse to be beaten by it.

With unprecedented access, including interviews filmed in the immediate aftermath of explosions and behind-the-scenes footage of police investigations, the film documents the real war on terrorism fought on the streets of the metropolis... with bloody and tragic consequences.

Sounds exploitative.

Just one step away from actually waiting and hoping to capture a terrorist blast live, complete with screaming victims and relatives.

Agree to an extent, but if it sheds light on the true strife and courage of Pakistanis and our resolve, not to mention highlighting the fact it will show to the wider world how we are directly suffering from terrorism and actively fighting.

A picture is worth a 1000 words, moving pictures worth 100'000.

Frankly anything that gets our side of the picture across is welcome. Besides they will be interviewing Kalim Immam, one of the most professional and brightest police officers i have ever come across.

Inshallah it will be worth viewing.

Thanks SH... this is exactly why i want more stuff like this in the mainstream, more people need to know that terrorism is a blight that we must rid "ourselves"..

And like i have been saying on countless discussions. People underestimate the sacrifices made by Pakistan on a daily basis. Yet despite all this people question our resolve.

I hope now some members of the Indian community can understand my frustration. Please lets cast aside our petty differences and have meaningful, fruitful discussions on Pakistan.

As my grandfather used to say, any old fool can criticise, on the courageous "offer assistance".

paladin.. i understand your pradicament. no one seems to have an answer to this menace. either the west or pakistan. seems like this is the one war, end to which no one knows. i think i'm not wrong when i say pakistan has lost more number of people to this menace than the number people they have lost in all the wars they fought, put together. i might sound clichet when i say, this is one war you can't win with the help of fighter jets, tanks or rocket launchers. there has to be a realisation within the people that these terrorists bring no good to anyone. need to make sure that they get sympathy from the public & the job of the administration is to ptovide them with the kind of opertunity, which would keep them away from this path of destruction.
only pakistanis can do this...

Islamabad doesn't really seem to be experiencing a whole lot of terrorist attacks. I mean they have like what, one terrorist attack every 6 months or so? There are far better places to shoot this film.
