Not according to IN terminology...

they're calling these 6800 ton beast Frigates..

and as if not enough,next frigates in this line (P-17A) will be some 7200(as per I remember) ton beast..

Kamorta Class Corvette weighs only 3400 ton..

Currently,No.
In IN, corvettes are for specific role where as frigates and destroyers are multi role. kamorta class is a pure antisubmarine corvette to replace Abhay class corvettes by role.So, Ashm's are not a necessity only optional.
