IMO it is the beginning of the new progress on China's open door policy.

Unlike 20-30 years ago when China was backward technologically and need to absorb new tech through joint-venture, today Chinese companies have high level of R&D in almost every industries, therefore joint-venture is mostly irrelevant now.

In fact there are many 100% foreign companies in China. Way back to 2010, my ex-employer in Shenzhen was a 100% Canadian owned company with HQ in Montreal.

Chinese/Korean/Japanese batteries and motors, etc, etc is dominant in the world, not Tesla, lol...Tesla is jut the sales and advertisement department of CATL, LG, Panasonic, etc, etc, and was trying to do so for BYD as well but got refused...LMAO...

As @F-22Raptor and I have been saying once the GigaBerlin gets up and running and the FSD matures it will be gameover time. That Chinese factory can spit out cheap little custom cars with the cheapest Chinese batteries just for the Chinese market.
I wonder what the combined exports of BYD, XPeng, and Nio's EVs are?

I'm guessing a few hundred at most. Tesla has been incredibly successful at keeping them at bay.

Not only has their overseas marketshare been squashed but their local marketshare is not doing very well either.

The reason Tesla is allowed here is to serve as a sales department for Chinese batteries, and other components to be exported to the world, otherwise, you get kicked out and become a ture nobody...The rest of the world EV market is nothing compared to China. LOL...

Lol Tesla is just buying and assembling Chinese components including from CATL and BYD.


90% of Tesla parts in China are made in China.


Tesla is a great mechanism to transfer money from US investors to Chinese components companies that sell to Tesla competitors too
Exactly, this is why they are allowed here, BTW, Elon Musk is saying all good things about China, otherwise Tesla will get kicked out and become a true nobody. After all, for EV, China market == the world.

Total for 2021 doesn't matter as it includes the sales of several months before the Model 3 sales crashed. What matters is the sales after the sales crashed.

tesla model 3 in china range is 675 km so not twice the range

nio get subsidies that tesla dont get why? cause goverment think swap stations is good so only who use swap sations get subsideis with high price goverment should not pick winners or loosers

No, NIO will be killed by BYD and their superior Blade battery which will put every other EV maker out of business due to its ability to not catch fire. This single factor will be the overwhelming reason why Chinese autobuyers will abandon other EV models in droves and thus dooming them to being has-beens. If you don't believe me you can ask the Chinese PDF members here who were stating that in 2020...

It's all about the Blade Battery in the BYD Han EV, Blade battery, BLADE battery!!!!!!.
