Car bomb attacks against four Shia mosques in Baghdad and one in Kirkuk killed at least 24 people and wounded more than 100, security officials said on Friday.

At least 19 people were killed in the Baghdad attacks, while at least five died in Kirkuk.

A police officer said the deadliest bombing was in western Jihad neighbourhood of Baghdad when a parked car bomb exploded as worshippers were leaving a mosque after Friday prayers. Seven people died there and 25 were wounded.

Another police officer said four worshippers were killed and nearly 20 were wounded in a bombing in eastern Qahira neighbourhood of the Iraqi capital. He said three people died and 15 were wounded in the eastern Zafaraniyah district and that another car bomb killed five and wounded 14 in the northeastern Binook neighbourhood.

Three health officials confirmed the causality figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not allowed to talk to the media.

The bombing in Kirkuk occurred as worshippers were offering Friday prayers in a city mosque, some 250 north of Baghdad, officials said. A further 60 people were injured.

he might have made that part up, but its not hard to figure out who is sponsoring terrorism " freedom fighters " in Iraq.

After Iraq and Russia were making a weapons deal, Qatar visited Russia trying to buy these weapons from Russia with a higer price so that Iraq does not get them.

You pulled that title out of your arse. Where doest it say ''saudi'' in the article.?

It does smell the Saouds...They never digested the fact the USA allowed a shia gouvernment in Baghdad..And you are not going to tell us that they are not behind the Algerian gas plant attack in In Amenas?

.
Sad incident, from the invasion of Iraq to this point lot of blood was spilled, RIP

I guess every body agrees that this is a job of Al-Qaeda. Now the question is which country is supporting them? financially and providing arms. by looking at Al-Qaeda origins and their current activities in Syria, every thing becomes clear.

of course everyone knows
but you cannot blame an ally in the region ;)

anyway i was laughing in one article in a French newspaper: they just copied the article of Al Jazeera
which was saying about the bombing but blaming the politics of Maliki...
some people have no morality and it is again very clear this newspaper having a strong opinion and ideology

I believe in order to prevent such sad incidents people must be educated, they must know if they kill themselves and others they are not gonna go to "heaven".

The only way to achieve this is to target these people's fundamentalism beliefs through science, they must be debunked and humiliated. Of course, this should be a medium-term goal, but for now Iraq must protect its borders to prevent terrorist spillover from Syria and weapons for terrorists from Saudi through Jordan.

that ally you are referring to is just another victim. support is from somewhere else.
