Terror bid foiled in Peshawar, terrorist killed, explosives seized

Police claimed to have foiled a big terror bid by killing a militant and seizing 105 kilograms explosive material in Bara Sheikhan area here on Thursday. According to police, on suspicion, police stopped a pushcart vendor for searching and he opened fire at the police. In retaliatory firing, police shot him dead. Police said that his other accomplice hurled a hand grenade at police and managed to flee from the scene. SSP rural told media persons that police recovered at least 105 kilograms explosive material from the pushcart. He said that a bomb with remote control and three hand grenades were also recovered from possession of the killed militant. Bomb disposal quad was called for defusing the explosives. The SSP said that the terrorists wanted to target Sarband police station in Peshawar. He said on a tip off about presence of terrorists the police cordoned off the area and started search operation for avoiding any untoward incident.

First and foremost, we are glad to read that this terrorist was stopped before committing an act of terror. We congratulate the Pakistani police on foiling this act of terror and possibly saving many lives in the process. It is in the best interest of our nations to stop these terrorists from succeeding. We are fighting a common war, and conspiracy theories serve no justice to our mission. It only makes sense to work side-by-side for the sake of achieving our shared objectives. We reiterate what Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, George E. Little, said recently: “We believe that the Pakistani government shares our view that terrorists threaten both countries, both Pakistan and the United States. Scores of Pakistanis have regrettably been killed by terrorists inside Pakistan. We, of course, have suffered losses as well, inside Pakistan and elsewhere, from al-Qaeda and from other terrorist groups operating along the Afghan-Pakistan border. So we have common cause with the Pakistanis. We're working closely with the Pakistanis on the counterterrorism issue, and we will continue to do so.”

Shame on US for giving terrorist heavens inside Afghanistan, basically US gov. is on different channel and Pentagon/CIA on different.

Anyways Pakistan is doing right to treat them differently and tit for tat
