What's new

Telangana bill got passed in loksabha.A new State got born in India.

Yeah I know, but they should be happy. In a smaller set up they will get better governance. Seemandhra being the richer part of Andhra will get more of its own resources spent on it's own people.

Stable govt will make seemandhra region better than telangana. Even telangana has got problems related to energy sources and water..

.
thats the perception they created.

page 63..
Coastal Andhra region record a per capita income of `36496
followed by Telangana (including Hyderabad) with a per capita income of `36082
, and `33056 in Rayalaseema at 2007-08 current

you can find other socio economic parameters aswell.this state was merely made for political advatages.nothing more
rayalaseema and uttarandhra are two most backward regions in the state.nobody talks about them.now their only source of income is taken away.

its not

Telangana's per capita income is only comparable to the other parts of Andhra due to Hyderabad. Hyderabad skews the stats.

Abe accha hua ek aur state banega :P the smaller the states better the administration .

costal andhra's percapita is "marginally"more than other parts because 4 of its districts are doing doing good in agriculture owing to its fertile lands.we are already facing water shortages from upper states especially during summers and it would be severe after brijesh kumar tribunal.now one more state comes in between.uttarandhra(srikakulam, vizianagaram, visakhapatnam except the city) are one of the most backward districts in ap if you look at the report.as you can see rayalaseema is also no better.when after studying whole report he advised the bifurcation must be the last option.dont forget all the above are agency areas once infested with maoists.not mention the same hyderabad you mentioned accounts for more than 40% of revenues to the state.and from now on seemandhra do not have any other assets.

1.) Telengana's demand is 50 years old.

2.) In India every state boundary was made on the basis of the language the natives speaks.

Like punjabis get punjab, tamils get tamilnadu etc. etc.

Same with Andhra Pradesh, but the real problem is that AP (Andhra Pradesh) was made up of some parts of Madras state which was under British administration + Hyderabad state which was under the Nizam's administration.

3.) The areas which was under the British administration was developed and prosperous as Britishers have build the canal system which resulting in prospering the local farmers and the traders. :agree:

The British administration area also have English as a medium of education, administration and the people under British administration were enjoying good position as they knew English. :agree:

4.) While the people living under Nizam's administration were poor because Nizam does not make canals or any development activities. :disagree:

Nizam's administration have urdu language as a medium of education and administration.

5.) After India's independence when Andhra Pradesh was made on the basis of Telagu language both these areas under Nizam and british were joined to make Andhra Pradesh.

6.) The Telagu people from British administration areas flock to the Hyderabad as it was the capital of Andhra Pradesh.

- The Telagu people from British administration areas were rich and Telagu people from Nizam's administrative areas were poor. :agree:

- The Telagu people from British administration areas were enjoying good post and jobs both in the andhra pradesh and the central government as they knew English which is a official language with Hindi. :agree:

- Telagu people from Nizam's administrative areas remains poor, jobless.

- The salt to the injury was that the capital of Andhra Pradesh was Hyderabad (which is situated in nizam's poor areas) the rich Telagu purchased land from poor Telagu and made rich gains.

This will end as these people will get their own state and a fair chance to get develop.

Another example of how Indians were better off under the British rule.

. . . . . .
read the post I'm responding to first before responding.

In that case please be more explicit. One liners can be misinterpreted. Choosing between British and Nizam must be like choosing between the Devil and the Deep sea. These kingdoms were under total control of the "British Empire". They treated the Indian subjects no better than the Britishers.

. . .
I wonder if this will trigger demand for more states especially in south India- like Malabar,Tulunad,southern-TN etc

All they have to do is align themselves with congress electoral needs and viola they'll have their new state. British left their legacy intact in India in the form of INC.
