Tehran Passengers , offer lucrative potential for PIA

I have been hearing recently from close sources that many Iranian passengers have to travel 24 hours plus to get to Iran from North America

I think such passengers , or routes offer great potential for PIA to activate their Direct plane sevices to carry large number of passengers to Iran

North American City - Karachi - Tehran (Sample Route) 13-14 hours direct flight


I think if PIA can show it can bring Iranian passengers safely to Iran in under 14 hours it would be a great route for PIA. For usage of Long Route planes like Boeing 777


I was talking to this guy today from Iran he was telling me he took a flight for 7-9 hours (In Europe), had to wait full 5 hours at airport for next connecting flight and then another 8 hours of trip and then his luggage arrived 5 hours later , all in all a 1.5 days worth of "KUWARI" at airport and waiting

The whole experience sounded very very long ordeal and tiring and just thought wow such passengers could have just came to Karachi , direct flight and then traveled between Karachi - Tehran a much simple easier experience

With a little bit of Marketing in Iran I am sure PIA can develop a following

PIA's Tokyo route was a bust but why not help carry the passengers of Iranaian origin to Iran seems like a wonderful prospect


**After I learned of this story I search for PIA ticket on most common Ticket booking websites and realized PIA does not sells their ticket on such platforms and this they miss out on many such travellers, PIA airline does not shows up on these websites . And then I realized why such passengers do not know it is much easier to come to Pakistan first and then take a flight from Pakistan to Iran faster connect route


I am pretty sure we can attract customers on PIA for Iran

PIA need to get on top of this immediately


And they serve pretzels on US internal flights hahahahahaahah

If you wish to rest in Karachi , well you can stay at the Luxury Hotel before you on board your next connect flight

stupid idea and thread. iranians aren't going to take a 3rd rate airline/country when they have turkish airlines and (still) emirates, qatar etc in addition to iran air/connections on the way in europe. They also have malaysian airlines and chinese airlines to pick thru if going to the west coast.

People don't notice but a 13 hour flight vs a 24+8 hour flight is a drastically different experience

13 Hour flight

• You get in plane
• Read magazine (1 hour)
• Check out the Air hostess if she is good looking
• Watch Movie (2 hours)
• Eat Meal (30 minutes to 1 hour)
• Sleep (4 hours)
• You wake up get warm towel (1 hour)
• Eat break fast
• Hey you are at Karachi
• Because you are in direct flight 100% your bags are in same plane
• You get out 1.5 hours use washroom , walk around and hop on Iran Airlines plane which takes you home 3-5 hours

24+8 Hour flight

• You have to get off plane after 5-6 hour
• AC is reduced you sweat
• Then plane runs again , gets super cold
• Passenger in-boarding noise
• Then you get a meal
• May be you watch Movie and it is only 7 hours in flight
• You still have to be on Travel route 24 hours more
• Then you get headaches
• Then you land , and have to wait at random airport for 5 hours
• You eat but you don't feel hungry
• The jump on new plane with luggage
• Nasty 8 hours more
• You wake up and feel like the trip just started only
• Then the devil babies start to cry for blood or milk
• You check the clock , wonder should I watch another movie or sleep
• Then you look outside your watch and the outside do not match you get disoriented
• Then you start to think may be you should open the airplane door for little air
• But then you remember ok that is not a good idea just 8 more hours to go
• Finally you land at your final destination , and you say to yourself I am gona be first to get out an grab my bags and be at home , sleep in my bed and relax
• Then you discover your bags have been stock in airport #2 and will arrive in next flight

the op is a kid who likes to post pictures. Iranians have access to airlines, hotels, and cities that are in a category way above what Pakistan can come up with. Pakistanis themselves prefer those different airlines and cities for transfers instead of taking PIA. Besides who in their right mind wants to fly the wrong way to connect to a flight in the opposite direction?
