I know they should not protest like this but having a couple of friends who drive black cabs in londonand taxi In my local borough.Uber is killing their trade.I live in the Medway towns uber are registered by transport for London why have we got them picking up punters here when they not allowed breaking all the rules undercutting local firms.

They also need to change their ancient cars. Otoh i have heard a lot of bad things about uber & careem theft, attempt to kidnap and even murder yep you heard that right

Reminds of the rackshaw Wala protesting against them... Yeah sure why not. Protest the fact that they charge a lot more to people than uber and careem who use mobile meters to calculate the rate.

From Punjab university to railway station it took a rackshaw 400 rupees. Argument would bring them to 350 but with careem its 240. From Rewaz garden to model town. Rickshaw takes 300-400. Career 210-230 but hey let's forget the consumers and innocent hard working people who had to use these guys and get robbed in day light.

Sorry but for me careem is the best thing in lahore. @jbgt90 i myself use career in lahore. I travel from sheikhupura to lahore and park my car in my Rewaz garden house and then travel with careem within lahore. I would be using them if they offered city to city services.

Careem is cheap in Pakistan too about 1 dollar 50 cents - 8km with A/C
This I mean from Bahria town ISB to saddar Rawalpindi those who wanted to know PS sry if I got the estimates of KM wrong lol

Anyways this is fantastic for young people to earn 60/70 thousand per month.

Yep. In lahore dead cheaper and they have AC. Only a fool would over pay for a rackshaw which would break your back and also have you sweat like a suna in this heat and humidity, when you have a cheaper, comfortable and AC option available.

i can understand the frustration of the taxi drivers in the countries where taxi regulations are strict or licences are expensive but what these jaglis are so agitated at.there is almost zero regulations in Pakistan and they drive 80s model Ac less khatara cars with exorbitant fares and still expect us to chose them over uber. why don't the just pull their heads from the place where sun don't shine and smell the coffee. competition is here either change your behavior and strategy or get out no one likes to travel in that

Its called competition ............. but their mehran taxi mentality won't understand / realise this. I think they have this option of getting their taxis registered with careem?

However, it is yet to be seen if Uber, Careem, ARY sahoolat car etc would remain cheap after wiping out the mehran taxis.
