Tata Power Gets Contract to Upgrade Indian Air Force Airfields

NEW DELHI -- Tata Power Co. said Monday its Strategic Electronics Division has been awarded a contract to improve India's defence airfields' capabilities to handle modern combat aircraft being inducted by the Indian Air Force.

The order is from India's defence ministry for the so-called program, Modernisation of Airfield Infrastructure - Phase I, Tata Power said.

Tata Power didn't give any other details, including the value of the contract and the number of airfields it will upgrade.

Earlier Monday, the Business Standard newspaper reported that the contract to upgrade 30 air bases is valued at 10.94 billion rupees ($248.6 million). It will be executed over the next 42 months, the report said, without citing any sources.

The modernization project will start with Bathinda airbase in north India's Punjab state and will also include eight airfields along the India-China border, the report added.

Indica wasn't that bad either except that it was pretty much noisy. They made improvements in the subsequent versions. The latest Tata car to roll out is the Manza. A nice car. I didnt like it though!

this is good news indeed. MOD should start phasing out these kind of projects to private players. This will result in quality, efficiency & kick start the modernisation in a faster pace!!

I'm not saying it was good but it was certainly better than some other cars of its generation including Daewoo Matiz and Fiat Palio. Those cars were trash. Matiz was cute though!

TATA has also got their Washing machine ranges called Voltas.

If you can send one washing machine to a decent mechanic he will put 4 wheels and a horn and a steering and you can climb uphill and go down all the way and enjoy the ride.
