New Delhi, June 16: Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has forwarded the complaints made by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government against former chief minister Shiela Dixit to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The complaint is related to the procurement of 385 stainless steel pipes for the Delhi Jal Board in the year 2012. The scandal, termed as ‘Tanker scam’ was debated in the Delhi assembly before AAP recommended LG Jung to order an FIR in the case.
According to the allegations, the total amount of corruption in the scam is to the tune of Rs 400 crores. The scandal has been probed by an internal committee of the government led by cabinet minister Kapil Mishra. The complaint was forwarded to LG’s office and Prime Minister’s Office on Monday. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded Narendra Modi to act against the corruption charges levelled against Dixit. Taking a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and Leader of Opposition in the legislative assembly Vijender Gupta, Kejriwal said, “I am sure he will resign if LG fails to forward our complaint. And if he would not resign, then we will sit on dharna. He was reported as saying by IANS.
