Govt will ensure that state’s interests, culture and rights are not affected in any way: Anbalagan.

Chennai
: The draft proposals of the new education policy sent by the Centre is under the consideration of the state government, state higher education minister K.P. Anbalagan on Tuesday said and asserted that Hindi and Sanskrit would not be allowed in TN.

Good...this is in line with the state's policy on Hindi language vis-s-vis the Tamil language....Tamil nadu for long has been the lone fighter in this struggle to oppose imposition of Hindi as national Language....more power to Tamil nadu, Karnataka , Andhra pradesh and Kerala...

The glorious history of Tamil language movement - Shafiqur Rahman

With Hindi set to become official language from January 26, 1965, the Republic Day when Indian constitution came into being in 1950, anti-Hindi protests burst forth in January in Tamil Nadu. Unlike the pre-war counterpart, the anti-Hindi protests in 1965 were led mostly by general people and students, but the level of violence was far more deadly.

On January 25, there was a state-wide strike in all educational institutes. Annadurai declared January 26, 1965 as a day of mourning. Students and general people brought out large processions in all the large cities over the next couple of days. The processions were generally peaceful, but in several places police and ruling-party men attacked the protesting students. A student named Rajendran died when police fired on students in Annamalai University at Chidambaram on January 27.

This death was the spark that ignited the movement.

As long as the good parts of the policy (and there are many) are implemented its fine.

I wouldn't call it a snubbing of the entire thing.

We need a uniform language to move forward
Can we collaborate languages And make a new one??

so Kashmiri is economical to sustain ?
The familiar sight of people tuning into All India Radio (AIR) news bulletins to catch up on news may soon be a thing of the past.

The Centre has decided to shut down vernacular news bulletins on AIR.

One exception has however been made and that is bulletins in Kashmiri will be for very obvious reasons.

However news bulletins in Hindi and English will continue. According to the government officials, it's uneconomical to sustain the vernacular bulletins

most of the modern tamil parent who can afford pvt school education want their children to learn Hindi ... !! Also in last 1 decade chennai changed a lot in terms of Language rigidness .. u can speak and interact in Hindi/ English much more freely.

.
why drag Karnataka , Andhra pradesh and Kerala. into this ?

yeah why drag as long as 'they' can reap the benefit from sacrifice made by Tamils to protect other regional languages

And that is the best way, not by state imposition of a policy.

im from Tamil nadu, but only dmk and its allies bark such things fr long, but their family members speak Hindi in parliament and rest while needed, only common people to be suffering by it.

I work in Karnataka, Maharastra, Gujarat and MP, I know the suffering i faced by not knowing Hindi there even for my basic needs.

I want other languages to be thought along with Tamil .

my basic question is, a person who don't have a Tamil name or Tamil culture speak about Tamils are too funny.
