^^^ Most of them are built between 7th and 16th century. The Srirangam temple and some of the Mahabalipuram temple have existed for more than 2000 yrs.

The one on the right with the huge trunk killed his mahout recently and there is a baby elephant in that temple too..i have seen it running around the temple screaming many times (scaring the hell out of devotees )
