Talks to bring PayPal to Pakistan underway: Asad Umar

Asad Umar : Certified goofball, IMF tool and pathetic liar

He is crapping about this for 6 months now. Alipay is already operating in Pakistan, only they are suppose to launch some kind of an e-payment service.

BROTHER TO GET MOST OUT OF PAYPAL WE NEED HONEST POSTAL SERVICE AND A QUALITY ONE. nobody is going to use paypal to purchase item if it going to be stolen at the postal depo.

My family has had good experience with Pakistani post.

True, ideally would like AliPay to come in with PayPal, competition is good for consumers.

Agree we should have multiple platforms operating.

Hearing about talks since 6 years. If they don't want to come leave them.

Just keep developing our country to progress. And then they will come after us like barking dog.

Allama iqbal — 'Khudi ko kar buland itna ke har taqder se pehle Khuda bande se khud pooche bata teri raza kya hai.'

I agree. The thing is when people spend money they want to do it on a platform you trust. PayPal is a known entity - so people worldwide are not afraid to transact on the platform. A new platform could take decades to get similar exposure.

To operate paypal we need dollar reserves but we have not much such reserves of dollars available and it will promote people keeping their money in dollars which may damage rupee value further

And Customs too. I have sent items from here to Pakistan. Not only the items are imposed duty on, when they were received they were damaged. Nothing expensive. Just children clothes and inexpensive toys. It turned out duty was higher than what they were bought for here. If this is the model of e-commerce, we better not have Paypal.

What PayPal???? All "Pals" are there to make Pak great!!!!! Some usual suspects and their cohorts will of course will come up with A4 page long rebuttals to show how bad Pak's conditions are!!!! Only if it could have won Afghanistan for them....

then pakistani wonder why no progress and moan truth is everybody is crook. The reason they get away because guns if they didnt carry guns they would have had their face smashed especially at the airport. Imran khan cant sort this out but wants investment. Uk pakistani are frustated bunch for a good reason, becuase of many reasons how they treated in uk, newspapers propaganda etc job problems and so on. The we come to pakistan thinking at least we can relax here, it is our own race people and they will be kind to us but instead we get harassed and feel like second class.

Lol why is this even a goal? Don’t you have your own alternatives like PayTM?

Oh uncle Paypal is not just about purchasing something online. You have your bank given cards for that.
Paypal has other more important uses...

We use JazzCash and EasyPaisa on limited/low level locally, their limited is 50000 pkr maximumin in account,
these are mobile payment system, we can recharge mobile, pay utility bills like electricity, gas and water bills and etc, these are limited payment system/accounts locally.they also supports debit card/atm cards locally atm, but very limited users use their atm cards, money can be deposited via agent like jazzcash agent or easypaisa agents, those agents are like pco owners. i think these are like PAYTM (made by chines company)in india i think .

We use on high level, bank accounts and use cheque and debit cards/atm cards.

On International level , only 2 Pakistani banks debit cards are 3d secure , those are HBL and Faysal bank, but all other banks only support 3d secure credit cards but not 3d secure debit cards, now a days State Bank Of Pakistan (central bank of pakistan) imposed restriction for online shopping on international level, because one of pakistan bank system was hacked... And most of Pakistan debit card mostly declined on international european and american sites as they only support 3d secure debit/credit cards, and most of poor people donot affor credit cards as their is restriction for 40000+ salary and etc .
Bitcoin is also good for online shopping in Pakistan, but it is costly as exchangers/agent sell with extra profit and i think it is illegal in pakistan too...

PayPal is good in Pakistan , because approx. 99% top sites of european and american sites supports it and it is best for customers as any dispute arise.. and also its cheap than payoneer and others

We have online payment platforms for domestic use, that is not a problem. It's about making Pakistani goods and services easily available to an external market. Paypal is internationally recognised, nobody fears using paypal to make an online payment to a foreign country - but if im sat in the UK and i've never heard of PayTM, i start wondering if it is safe to use or not.
