Taliban offensives Going on Unabated Against the Beleaguered Afghan forces

I think Pakistan should strictly pursue its own interests and give middle finger to anyone who wants otherwise.
I say fully arm the taliban, give them ATGMs, MANPADs, small drones, night vision, tank ammo, RPGs etc. Make sure the taliban quickly takes over the whole country. We know these afghan govt scumbags dont want peace and act as spoilers so we better make it quick. A quick victory for taliban and then we can make them sit with other countries to devise an acceptable rule.
I am pretty sure it's already done, but not by Pak....

. .
..by 2003 the Taliban were reduced to suicide lingerie and sneak attacks. There were no direct engagements between the US and Taliban at scale. The lesson the west don't seem to learn is that large parts of Afghanistan prefer to remain in the 10th century. Not everyone is sold on progress and for some human development does not translate to aspiring for 100G or AI or interplanetary travel.

We wasted 2 trillion dollars on nation building and now we've belatedly realised there is no nation to build. The myth of Afghanistan lingers in Kabul and a few large cities.

In 2020, the Taliban made 1.7 billion dollars in illicit trade of precious stones via Pakistan. With modern mining techniques a framework of legal exports Afghanistan could have made 10 billion from the same volume of export. The crude techniques used for mining degrades the quality and value of these stones and the returns to the Afghan people are further diminished by middle men in Pakistan and overseas. China has largely given up on Afghanistan its just too much work with not enough returns compared to much more accessible treasure troves in Africa and South America with lower risks and higher returns.
The point I'm making is the US have written off Afghanistan and wants to exit and absolve itself of all moral responsibility for the consequences by brandishing the "absolutely not" fig leaf conveniently supplied by Imran Khan. Sealing your porous borders and hoping the problem goes away is wishful thinking of a noob Pakistani Prime Minister.

We will see. Thus far we have always been correct in our projection and you always wrong. We told you that the Afghan war was unwinnable. Today you are packing your bags and leaving after 20 years. Had you listened to Pakistan it would have saved you embarrassment, money and lives.

We are correct as far as the border is concerned. We will demonstrate yet again that Pakistan won't be affected by Afghan refugees and Afghan instability. You thought you had an ace up your sleeve. With border fencing Pakistan has virtually removed the threat of Indian and Afghan sponsored terror against Pakistan. Why did you think we aqcuired armed drones from China? The fence will be patrolled from the air and on the ground. Whatever happens in Afghanistan stays in Afghanistan.

As for the drones, Pak is also developing her very own ones! And, Pak’s selfless friends are on top of this drone business...

As for the Taliban and her neighbors, the more isolated Afganistan remains from the “ usual suspects” the better....

Good points. Trade/smuggling between Afghanistan and Pakistan has gone on for centuries. Afghanistan due to geography will always be dependent on its neighbors. And why Kabul's open hostility toward Pakistan....a neighbor its most tied too, was foolish.

The regime in Kabul miscalculated big time. Kabul regime has had an anti-Pakistan agenda since it was created. Pakistan has a 1000x military advantage over Kabul....its the last neighbor they should picking a fight with. They thought with USA cover they could back terror factions in Pakistan and get away with it. That cover is gone and nature will take its course.

This is why Ghani ran in a panic to Washington to get the USA to change its policy and why Karzai is openly bad mouthing the USA. What about there own stupidity? The USA has accepted it can't save every fool.

Now, only the pro-Pak Afgan folks with a verifiable “testimony” will be doing the “trade” with the Hakiki Paks....

Never said Pakistani forces should go into Afghanistan. Use local proxy on the ground supported by drone strikes from the air. Carve out a buffer, wipe out any RAW/NDS proxy's. Kabul regime is dysfunctional they will fall on their own. The newly mobilized civil militias are one disagreement from turning on each other.

Indian proxies will be wiped out anyway and from whole of Afghanistan, not just border areas. Buffer zone is not feasible, as it will be seen as an attempt to take territory and would make us look aggressors to the international community and afghans and would cause us alot of harm. If we can have our allies take whole of Afghanistan then why even settle for buffer zone? Again i will say if we cannot fully control our border with our large forces and equipment, how will we control a buffer zone with few drones and small militia?

Your scenario is too optimistic. We should plan for different out comes. Best case scenario Taliban can pressure Kabul for a negotiated settlement. Worst case, district closest to Pakistan should be secured by local Pak-friendly Afghans with our drone support. This is already occurring, IMO.

Pakistan stated policy that it will accept government only chosen by people of Afghanistan is totally flawed and will backfire.

The anti-Taliban are not Pakistan's friends. When Pakistan says it will not accept Taliban govt that take Kabul by force, it is also alienating the Taliban. In the end, we will be left with no friends there.

If Taliban are fighting, its because they were not given their due share in the government by puppet regime under Ashraf Ghani. In fact Ghani never wanted to talk to Taliban, blaming Pakistan for all their mess.

The reality of Afghanistan is whats going on now. Our bet should only be on peace. If Taliban bring peace, so be it. Remember that non Taliban forces in Afghanistan will never be our friends and its them who have ruled under American patronage for 20 years. We have bled so much that I least care whether Taliban take Afghanistan by force or by vote.

Our interest should hold primacy over 'democratic' ideals which is only a mirage in a country like Afghanistan.

Has anyone noticed that Indians have gone completely silenced in their support of the Ghani government on Twitter or on PDF. Where is phull suppooort.

Turkey won't send any additional troops according to the Turkish Defense Minister. Moreover, the Turkish presence is non-combatant in nature, it's only for providing technical assistance to run the airport....
They should pack their bags and leave as well. They came as occupation forces and should leave it as their masters are leaving as well. Slaving away their life for their masters shouldn't be their goal. Turkish forces didn't came in Afghanistan to safeguard the Muslims and so they shouldn't pretend now as well. They came there to either kill or support the killers of Muslims. So now leave and let the Afghanis sort it out for themselves as it's their country.

The West of the country will go to Iran Sphere and the East will go to Pakistan Sphere. The USA backed central government cannot hold their grounds but those Tajiks, Hazara and Pamiris will fight.

If taliban can get rid of Indian/USA stooges like Ghani and co and after winning the war can negotiate power sharing settlement with farsi speakers of Afghanistan to end civil war. Along with getting rid of all anti-Pakistan terrorists. Then we should support them. Otherwise there is no point supporting any party in ongoing civil war. Let Afghan figure it out what they want as we seal the border.
