Daily Express News Story
Talat Hussain in his latest article commented on the Modi's invitation. His articles commented on a couple of things,
Firstly, celebration of the routine invitation also given to other countries and at a short notice doesn't mean anything. The way Pakistani FO, media and politicians are commenting on the invitation is very euphoric.
Secondly, Modi's past is very controversial and he never tried to be apologized rather he gave very casual comments on the 2002 Gujrat's riots. He uses very strong language against Pakistan all the time.
Thirdly, he reacted very strongly to the statement of the Gen. Raheel about Kahmir that Kashmir is a controversial area. Modi used very strong language against Gen. Raheel and he said this is the interference in India's internal matters.
Lastly, Pakistan is an important country in the region and the Pakistani's PM should realize its strategic importance.
Talat Hussain gave his advice that the PM should not attend the ceremony at such a short notice. This will give the wrong message. The government should stop showing its anxieties and hyperness on the invitation.
I agree with lots of points of Talat's except one and that is instead of PM, they should send President, who is the head of the state and in the parliamentary system he represents the government in the ceremonies like this. I completely agree, the governmental team should stop showing their anxieties and their eagerness to Modi's invitation.
