Syria Violence: 200 People Killed In Assault By Government Forces

This is good news. Hopefully the Syrian government manages to cripple those terrorists.

.
Well in the footage and in the interview, its evident that people are not waiting for any support they are going to fight for themselves.

.
To hell with Russia and China, what are they waiting for 2000 in 10 hours????

Practically, what type of international actions could be useful? I understand your feeling, but after seeing what happens after Iraq, Libya etc, I think international intervention will be even worse. It is like group A is killing group B, with NATO based intervention, it will end up with group B killing group A, with more people in the middle suffering from cross fire.

People have been fighting the government for several months now. Just because bogus "human rights" organizations call them peaceful protestors doesn't mean that's what they actually are.

First of all dropping special forces to secure hospitals and residential areas, then swift infantry action backed by air support. If they can't do this, then drop supplies, medicines, blood etc. coz there is going to be shortage of everything.

But innocent civilians shouldn't pay the price. They are firing at their will....

Sure, lets do that in India to protect Maoists, "then swift infantry action backed by air support" to bomb India to the stone age :azn:

Do you realize how stupid it is? Vast majority of Syrians support their government, and while there are dissatisfied people (as in every country, including India), they are minority. However major source of disturbance is a fact of West/Arabs armed and funded terrorists, including from other countries.

Ramadan Hama cleansing was somewhat effective - we dont see large opposition gatherings there since then. Although we still have some sporadic fire. After it Homs became the center of riots, so operation there was inevitable. Since Ramadan opposition became much much better armed and organised, so this cleansing will be much harder and bloody. But even if it will be successful it will be only a temporally relief. Assad simply has not enough loyal troops to control all territory.

First half year protests indeed were peaceful. Assad's brutal crackdown turned them into violent.

Do they look armed rebellion like maoists, or terrorists funded by westerners?

People continue to take to the streets across Syria, where the uprising is becoming increasingly militarised. The UN says more than 5,400 people have been killed since the uprising began in March. Meanwhile, the government blames "armed gangs" for the unrest and says more than 2,000 members of the security forces have been killed.

And don't compare it with Kashmir now.... its a lame argument, UNSC problem is not there in indian domestic problems. :azn:

Sure, a second Libya, official start of the cival war and a 56% of GDP drop in a single year. And the new government is no better than the previous one.

North Korea was in shortage of everything for months, it only makes people hate American more. Those in power will not suffer no matter how much shortage is, only those innocent civilians, who just want to live a good life and don't have any political intention, suffer from the power collision.

I see about a hundred peaceful protesters in a country of 22 mln., NOT being killed by the government :azn: As I said, in every single country there are dissatisfied people, but as long as they are minority, I dont see the issue.

Fact is, Syria is fighting against West/arabs backed armed terrorists, and massive West propaganda reminds me a lot of Libya, Iran, and any other war or pre-war brain washing of population.

Think for yourself, look for different sources, otherwise you'll believe nonsense of "Iraq's WMD", "Gaddafi's distribution of Viagra and mass rapes", or how "Iran will nuke Israel soon". Its all propaganda.

They look exactly like Maoists.

I don't see the linked article has anything to do with what I am talking about. I am not discussing who is right and who is wrong here. I am asking whether there's a practical way of stopping this without introducing more casualties of innocent civilians. And I believe what you've proposed will only make things a lot worse.

Okay, they can go inside and disarm both sides.

There few factions which are violent, majority of them are on non-violent protestors which is the same way we gained our independence. As far as comparing maoists are concerned, they are not asking separate nation. I know few persons who are in favour of maoists, but they condemn violence and they want suppression of local people by local government to be stopped.

Again, the gravity of situation in this case is far worse than that in india. No UN SC meeting is called for it. I think i am supported by majority countries foreign policy makers. I agree that Russia and China are against foreign intervention, but again they wont accept any loss of human lives.
