What's new

Sylheti is a language on its own right.

haha this last two video is funny:

It is high time that Government of Bangladesh recognize Sylheti as language own its own right and declare Sylhet Division as its unique part of Bangladesh and help preserve its heritage within Bangladesh.

What is the point of this non sensical thread? Who gives a crap about sylheti being a different dialect or language for that matter. No one in BD would have an issue with it being declared as such.... there would be no opposition. There is no such movement and if it ever arises they would be pushing against an open door. This is simply not an issue to anyone at all anywhere within BD. Pure retarded thread.

.
Marriage of Assamese muslim women to our Hindu families is very common, not that difficult when our culture is the same.

Stick to the point being discussed, about the Sylhetis being persecuted in Bangladesh.
What Nonsense !!! No one is oppressing sylhetis. No one in BD will be opposed to have Sylheti , CTG dialect being protected and taught , it’s a non issue . We are proud of them .

A lot of threads opened by OP are pure nonsense . He opened a thread other day where he wanted Arabic to become state language in BD. How old is this OP guy anyways ?

No one is oppressing
The most disgusting are people of the north Bengal.

This is the level of hatred you Bangals have for those different from you. Above is just an example. You want everyone to fit to your mould.

North Bangladesh(Rangpur) specifically was a part of our NE India and was handed over to your country treacherously. And now your people discriminate against them and the Sylhetis.

Ongoing Chakma genocide goes on unabated too..

I am wondering why masi is showing more love than mother ! Something fishy , because there is a saying and that is , If masi/khala is showing more love than mother , then she is not masi , but actually a rakkhosi/demoness under the camouflage of masi! :-)

Simple. The mahi in this case sympathises and objects to the step motherly treatment of people who were once connected to them, be it the North Bangladeshi Kochs or the Sylhetis.

If this is not an issue, why aren’t they protecting it, slowly killing the language with Kolkata Sanskrit dominated Bengalism erasing the rich Islamic heritage of Sylhet division, I see many younger generations are not using Sylheti words, how come you are not being part of the solution and help preserve it? overseas Sylheti Bangladeshies are the only ones who are protecting and are trying to preserve it. You clearly seem butthurt.

Sylhet is an integral part of Bangladesh and will remain so, we would never join India and love Bangladesh, we were not discriminated, just language and it’s heritage are not respected. God saved us by joining EP(Bangladesh), otherwise we would still be living like slave within India. Sylhetis are proud Bangladeshis and their struggle is internal recognition of their languages preservation of Sylhet division’s heritage. Many many Bangladeshis from other district however try to deny Sylheti is a language own its own right and which views needs to change. Your disregard for it doesn’t help it either. For your information, many Sylheti Bangladeshies do give a crap are trying to protect it from Kolkata dominated Bengalism.

You’re entitled to your opinion and you seem clearly butthurt; we are trying to raise awareness of Sylhet Division’s long rich history and it’s heritage within Bangladesh. Arabic is also integral part of Bangladeshi Muslim heritage, whether you like it or not, it will only get strengthened in Bangladesh. And Arabic is a beautiful language as well and it would help Bangladeshi youth as well.

Thank you for admitting this.

This proves that Bengalis are not looting us and are allowing us to prosper within BD.

True Bengalis used to look down on us 30-40 years ago when we were much poorer and less educated than them.
This has now changed massively and we are just as educated and even wealthier than the rest of BD.

As for our language, yes that is something that BD needs to address. Our language needs to become an official language and taught to all schoolchildren in Sylhet division. This also goes for Chittagonians in their division.
Most BD Bengalis posters on pdf seem to support this and I know it is only a matter of time till our language has official status in BD.

As for Assam joining BD, really you guys should as BD is on the way up and you will become so much better off within BD like we are now. India is a good fit for you guys and you need to recognise that.
yes brother our language needs to be taught in Sylhet Division within Bangladesh. Sylhetis are one of the most wealthiest and blessed people within Bangladesh. We are blessed to be part of BD not be part of India.

In BD I only like Dhakaya, Sylhety and Chatgaya. These languages are in their own league and respectful. Apart from the pure Bengali language I use. My version the real Bengali, is alien to most of the BDs. They also call it bookish version. Its difficult to converse with a Bangladeshi in a pure Bengali version. They have their own versions of broken Bengalis with added noise. The most disgusting are people of the north Bengal. I don't why these guys associate their pathetic tongue as Bengali. And these forum poppers from abroad should do some real ground work if they really want any recognition, instead of asking in these foreign forums.
We are trying bro, InshAllah soon or later Sylheti will be granted official status in Sylhet Division in Bangladesh. There are many people from other division try to deny it, so we are just trying to raise awareness and change this mentality. Regardless, Sylhetis are proud and blessed to be Bangladeshi and enjoy such a wonderful standard of living.

Assam should join Sylhet Division and be part of Greater Bangladesh and enjoy better living standard and have more opportunities.Assamese will enjoy better living standard in Bangladeshi union as well. Even Bihar should have been part of Modern day Bangladesh ( it was part of Sultanate Of Bengal)

The more I read from this guy , it seems he is a false flagger , an Indian probably. All his threads , posts are aimed to create division among BD people . @mb444 @Atlas

You’re a gullible and butthurt person, when you cannot debate with rationality, you accuse people of something they clearly despise in being part of. It’s people like you who are denying Sylheti it’s due recognition in Bangladesh and most Sylhetis like myself are proud Muslim Bangladeshi, but people like you are subjugating it allowing those things to happen instead of working toward preserving it and making it a golden part of Bangladesh. Btw you sound illiterate too ! Better accept and respect Sylheti as a language in Bangladesh and respect Sylhet division’s unique Islamic heritage in Bangladesh, do not try to alienate Sylhetis as Sylhetis like me are proud Bangladeshi origin. You yourself sound like a an fascist that’s why you cannot take part in a intellectual debate, why are you so butthurt about it when I posted about Sylheti language, are you a fascist? Is getting Sylheti language recognized in Bangladesh considered causing division, are you fascist? Perhaps you’re against Sylheti language recognition in Sylhet Division Bangladesh. Arabic is an integral part of Bangladeshi Muslim heritage, fascist like you cannot remove it from Bangladeshi Muslim’s heart! Do you subscribe to RSS ideology that you also deny that Arabic language doesn’t play a role in Muslim heritage of Bangladesh ?

Stop being a cry-baby and provide facts if you can. Rangpur was the part of the Kamata/Koch kingdom before being taken over illegally. Even the name Dinajpur has the origin in our old Kachari language of NE India.

Sylhetis are proud to be Bangladeshi. Do not try to spin it otherwise, however we do like to preserve our language and it’s unique heritage within Bangladesh . Lastly Assam should join Sylhet division and be part of greater Bangladesh including Bihar (as it was part of Sultanate of Bengal) to enjoy the better standard of living and get more opportunities as well.

I agree with you on this post!

Sylhetis are proud to be Bangladeshi.
Factually incorrect! A more pragmatic viewpoint would be that the Sylhetis hailing from present day BD try their best to convince the other Bangladeshis of their patriotism.

Do remember that equal numbers of Sylheti Hindus and Muslims are from India too, and they are staunch nationalists.

Also, it was a Muslim Sylheti amongst others due to whose efforts leaders of Pakistan were unable to usurp the Barak valley of Assam.

United Bengal
The map you shared is a figment of your imagination, most commonly found among the daydreaming Jamaatis..

Buddy it has already been said in this posts thread by multiple members that no one is against the idea of preserving sylheti , CTG languages .it is non issue . We support it whole heatedly . There is even an institute in Dhaka that works towards preserving and research of languages all over the world .
Mate you show me one good logic for having a thread like this other than giving Sanghi trolls excuses to spread their propaganda before asking me to be logical .

We would never ever join India it would never happen not even in zillions years god saved us by making us part of EP (Bangladesh), we are proud to be part of Muslim Bangladesh where our people have one of the best living standard, many Sylhetis also fought for independence of Bangladesh. Sylhetis would never join India and be a slave due to practicing their religion and have a substandard living standard, you guys can join Sylhet Division and be a greater part of Bangladesh where our Sylheti language would be recognized and protected and while having the equal rights and get more development and live a fruitful and prosperous life in Greater Bangladesh if you wish to do so!
