Rawalpindi: Ms Ulrika Sundberg,Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan called on General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Army Staff at General Headquarters on Thursday.

According to ISPR, the visiting dignitary remained with him for some time and discussed the matters of mutual interest.

Sources say that host of issues of bilateral interest came under discussion like overall security situation, military ties etc.

Sources say that COAS will soon visit Sweden.

It is learnt that Pakistan is talking to Sweden on purchase of latest sophisticated war weapons thus meeting between the two leaders was quite significance in this regard, Sources concluded.

And wat kind of sophisticated weapons may they be?
Can u kindly tell us brother azad.
Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this has been posted before but here is something I found in relation with Gripen IN and Indian MMRCA tender.

The news is old but it points to one of Pakistan's concern and that is the US element which is what we are trying to escape in defense sector.

Gripen takes a hit in MMRCA race after US bullying: Report | StratPost

The Swedish fighter aircraft Gripen has suffered a setback in the six-vendor race to bag the Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA) order for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

The Jerusalem Post has reported that under US pressure the Israeli Defense Ministry has ordered the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) to withdraw from a project to jointly develop the Gripen IN with Gripen’s parent company Saab. The Gripen IN is the aircraft Saab has been proposing to offer the Indian Air Force.

The Jerusalem Post reports, ‘The Defense Ministry ordered IAI to back out of the deal after the Pentagon expressed concern that American technology, used by Israel, would be integrated into the Gripen offered to the Indians.’

The report quotes an unnamed Israeli official, who said, “The stated concern was that western technology in Israeli hands would make its way to the Indians.”

I don't think gripen would be a reliable option.

What else is there that Swedes can offer, other than Erieye and Gripen!

Ha! Was expecting Indians to say we should not select Gripen for MMRCA as Sweden sold AWACS to Pakistan.
PS: We don't need Gripen - We have JF-17 which can be brought on par with Gripen NG if we spend the same amount of money on it.

Could it be an avionics package for JF-17? Probably something similar what Gripen has. And by that I mean only for Pakistani usage and not for JF-17 exports to other countries.

ah its get soo annoying when senior members start responding to trolls n join the lable,
anyways, i think its a good move , we can seek something good for our boy jf-17 from swedish defence market.

Do you have a source to verify that "What you heard" or are you just spamming here?

About topic....

If the COAS talked to these Swedish people, then i guess nothing for Airforce.

Maybe some infantry fighting equipment?

do u have money for that???

Look kid, you are new here.

Respect the forum or at least learn to.

Don't put up such stupid questions. There are threads already on this topic and no one is going to dare start to explain your pea sized brain, that where we get the money from and how we still have armed forces that can send destruction at India any day.
