SWEDEN’S GRIPEN BACK ON IAF’S RADAR FOR LIGHT COMBAT PLANES

Like any professional force, Iaf is going for quality on obvious reasons.

Why would any one buy a sub standard product which doesnt meet your requirement.

well dear Tejas is good enough for the role they are being inducted but IAF will not rest tlll its gets mrca of there choice

Why would any professional force compromise on quality just for the sake of local manufacturing phenomenon.

Iaf had already faced severe criticism due to poor quality of old migs.

. .
True, which is why we rejected sub-standard F-16 Block 70, better than your entire fleet.
F16 despite being the world largest selling fighter jet, is now coming to its saturation point as compared to the rest rafale and euro fighter in the mrca competition.

Hence F16 was not selected due to little room for further upgradation in future.

Go and tell this to iaf, who have not yet issued FOC to LCA and not satisfied with the product.

That is the reason why the Indian defence minster has made it clear that Tejas will inducted in huge numbers. Since then I have not heard anything from IAF.

By the way in the words of your own prime minster JF-17 Not as advanced as LCA: Nawaz Sharif

Hi
@all_Indians

Why keeping away from Gripen is wisdom.
1.ITS A/B version is outdated and C/D don't come up even half of the expectations of IAF.
2.It leaves the NG version.

Now some facts
1. No NG is inducted even in the Swede or Brazilian Airforce. Its projected time is 2018, and seeing the rate of progress don't be surprised if it becomes 2019.

2. Present expected cost is around 85 million dollars per plane leaving out weapons, infrastructure, training.

Now just think about it yourself.

Is it wise to go for a plane which won't be coming before 2020, costs about 90 million including weapons and spares and still doesn't come closer to fulfilling our MMRCA needs.

If we really want to spend that much why not get 2-3 squadrons more of mki ?

Cheers
Thanks

Who said ? It was the IAF that issued IOC to Tejas. It was IAF that ordered 40 LCA mk1.It was IAF who proposed a new upgraded LCA version based on the one offered to the navy, which became the LCA mk2.

Yet another slap on the greatest success of LCA program.
Grippen intended for replacing mig 21.
Nice delusions

ADA and HAL will keep on reinventing the wheel.

Meanwhile LCA is in serial production at HAL...

.
gripen is not happening so get over it boys.

The reasons include

1. Cost despite reports to the contrary each gripen cost over $60m with out weapons
2. It is another combat type on top of 6 other combat types = logistics nittmare
3. it will kill LCA for ever
4. Timescale wil take too lonmg for negotiation.

THIS IS FANTASY

Yes they have ordered lca but simultaneously asked for mkII as mkI is highly deficient to meet the ASR requirements by iaf.
A total of 53 major and minor deficiencies have been given in the IOF which are yet to be rectified in FOC or mkII version.

Let lca first get the FOC first and then make tall claims of inductions in large numbers.
Only 40 MkI will be inducted.
And then wait till 2021-22 when mkII will be ready and get FOC.

India should buy one squadron of every fighter available. Even kids don't get that confused in a candy shop. LOL
