Sweden keen to increase economic ties with Pakistan: Ambassador
ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Sweden, Tomas Rosander here on Thursday said that his country was keen to increase its economic ties with Pakistan.
The Ambassador called on Finance Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar and discussed bilateral economic matters.
The minister said that the focus of the government desired expansion of economic relations with other nations with focus on trade and investment.
The Swedish Ambassador said that Sweden is keen to increase its economic ties with Pakistan.
In this connection he informed the Finance Minister that a trade delegation comprising Swedish business persons led by Speaker of the Swedish Parliament is planning to visit Pakistan this year.
During the meeting the Swedish Ambassador also discussed the (30.4 MW) Jagran-1 Hydro Power Project constructed in collaboration with a Swedish Company in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The Finance Minister assured the Swedish Ambassador that he would look into the issue of outstanding payment of the Swedish Company and take up the matter with relevant authorities of AJK Government for its expeditious resolution.
The meeting was attended by Advisor to Ministry of Finance Rana Asad Amin, Secretary Kashmir Affairs, Shahidullah Baig and senior officials of the AJK Government and Finance Ministry.
