PESHAWAR: The local of Swat claims to have prepared the fake video of flogging of girl in Swat, has termed it drama and revealed that he has received 0.5 million rupees for doing so before the launch of military operation.

According to a news agency report, before the operation Rah-e-Rast, an NGO financed preparation of fake video of flogging in which they portrayed that the Tehrik Taliban Pakistan officials were flogging a woman after awarding her punishment according to Islamic laws.

The Provincial government and Commissioner Malakand Division, Syed Muhammad Javed ordered investigations regarding the video and sought report from the authorities concerned.

After the successful operation in Malakand Division, the law enforcement agencies had arrested the children who were present in the video while the resident of Swat was apprehended by Kohat administration.

The Children and other arrested man revealed that the video was fake and said that it was made on the demand of Islamabad based NGO which financed 0.5 millions.

Woman who flogged in the video was also arrested and revealed that she had received 0.1 million while 50, 000 were given to each child. Sources said that the NGO produced the video to defame the country’s integrity and respect, the news agency reported.

The law enforcement agencies dispatched the report about the arrests of the culprits and proposed action against the NGO. They also further said that the sensitive departments also apprehended those TTP workers who flogged the people, it was reported.

I would like to know which NGO organisation this was........there has been a fair few incidents involving NGOs going beyond their mandates, something which has happenned in India recently involving the NGO's demanding poor Hindus to convert to Christianity in exchange of food and supplies.......unfortunately, that ended up quite bloodily. We should identify this group, name and shame it before kicking them out of Pakistan

What about those hundereds of men beheaded and hung upside down on trees and on Khoni chowk. What about those 100s of army men killed....Even if this video is fake i wanted this operation and i am happy that army kicked their as$ out of swat.

I hope this was sarcasm, since the suicide bombings, beheadings and hanging of dead bodies, of people opposed to the Taliban, from poles in the markets of Mingora was certainly not a 'drama'.

There was no mistake made - this news report is quoting another 'report' and at the moment lacks credible evidence to support it.

This is yet another attempt by the Islamic extremists to defame NGO's because they 'dare' to educate women and help in spreading awareness about disease and birth control.

BTW, while the Swat TTP initially denied the flogging, their spokesman accepted that the flogging itself was acceptable and Islamic under their ideology.

Again, no mistake was made in acting against these barbarians - almost every single article out of Swat indicates that the people of Swat are breathing a sigh of relief at being liberated from the tyranny of the Taliban, so who are you to advocate that they go back under Taliban occupation and barbarism?

Strange is that if it was fake, then why did the TTP spokesman, Muslim Khan accepted responsibility and said it was done rightly and as someone said above what about the thousands killed by their hands, and the other tales of barbarism told by people when they came out of the clutches of these zalimans.

Fake or not fake, what happened was right, Army did the right thing and they should stay as long as this menace isn't killed.

It wasn't fake, no one from the Taliban side came out condemning it. That camp was busy justifying using some Ayats in the Quran. And a local guy wouldn't need to be paid 500,000 to fake it (no special affects were used, only actors). 50,000 rps would be enough. This news sounds BS.

TTP people are barbaric terrorists. No doubt they have committed attrocities and NO One is defending them.


I dont comment on this news whether BS or real.

But about the video its a fact that very known and good media persons working for international media and known names in Pakistan from NWFP know that what happend was all planned.

If an NGO/individual did this, then it/he needs to be awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan and recognized as a hero by the people of Pakistan for perhaps the most effective piece of information warfare in the history of Pakistan's war against terrorism and Islamic extremists.
