No one ever claimed India becoming superpower, it is you guys who make up such things on your own and then use it confidently as if true, our government had an over ambitious project named “Vision 2020” aiming to make India developed by 2020 or bring it nearby to a developed country as much as possible.

Believing you can achieve greatness is not a wrong thought process to have for a nation, being blind and ignorant because of it is.

Well for the majority it's the belief that we are destined for greatness and can(yes not are but can) one day become the great power (if not super power) that we were in ancient times, our civilization history comes with a certain baggage of hope and pride.
Some do take it to the next level with dates and timelines but don't generalize it with all Indians.
